It was ok, but pricey

Service was actually ok, and beer was cold. The prawns were lovely and squid was ok. But there were no prices on the board and I felt it was very expensive for what wet got (47e for 2 beers, a coke, calamari, gambas and bread). Ok but wouldn't come back.

Horribly expensive tapas: as example, 8 euros for 5 chorizo's slices ... !! And we had to wait more than half of hour for a simple bakked egg ... who was even not good ... never again. If you want Tapas and are in the neighbour of la boqueria, then walk to the BEDEGA BIArrtiz where you will have value... More

It's busy and the staff will want you to eat, not sip a coke for two hours. But the tapas is great, salted cod very good, sautéed calamari wonderful, aubergine lovely... Not the cheapest but very good food just on the edge of the madness of the market.

T he mustachioed waiter horribly behaved, was impatient and urged to choose. When we could not find food we like and we said that only want to drink the drink, almost covered the table for us.

Service was great, friendly and fast. Good local house beer at decent prices. The seafood was good enough; the meat much better! Not cheap for sure but prices are to be expected. Too many tourists for my taste, with a lot of smoking scum around you. Overall good place at La Boqueria

Stopped her for a quick bite to eat and loved it. Ended up staying a couple of hours drinking, eating and watching the world go by. The food was fantastic and the service was really good. If you are in the area please pay it a visit.

We went to Papitu to get something to drink (it was a warm day, and we were getting pretty desperate. The drinks we wanted was non-alcohol). Overall the waitress was arrogant and had a really bad attitude. We had to wait for a long time before she would come to our table - and when she finally came she was... More

We sat there and the waiter looked like really stressed. We ordered and he came back almost throwing our coffees on the table. Never asked if we wanted something else. Made some people leave from the table next to ours. Unpleasant experience.

We were fortunate to have found this perfect gem early in our stay and visited 4 times in all. Sardines were fantastic every time but even better was there own brewed 'doble malta' beer. It was outstanding! The only thing that beat the beer were the two exceptional waiters who dealt with everyone with equal patience and helpfulness. I have... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
