Lived up to our expectations

I'd read about this little place in Timeout and would never have found it otherwise. It's in a tiny courtyard just off Lá Boqueria market, on your right as you enter the market. It's a tiny metre long bar with an outside seating area. The tapas menu is extensive and we enjoyed fresh tiger... read more

This is over priced tapes restaurant and the person preparing the food was constantly weeping his face and then continued with food preparation. the food was not great ether. If you want good food at a reasonable price without any added sweat stay a way from this place.

do not trust this restaurant, it is a scam. I am a lover of Spanish cuisine and this place is a disgrace. The cured ham is not, it is extremely expensive and also required a minimum consumption without directed anywhere. their waiters are the most vivid representation of the scam, mocking and derogatory.

We found this restaurant outside the market off the Ramblis and just wanted a drink. We sat down and were told you had to order food to set there. They had no menus in English so we ordered the first salad on the list, bread and sangria. What a wonderful surprise to find the salad was like a Caprese Salad... More

Very fresh ingridients, fabulous parillada de mariscos, even simple toasted bread with olive oil and cumin was perfect! Additional star for their version of brownie:-)

We had a drink and a (decent) tortilla in this unpretentious bar just next to to La Boqueria market. We were a bit afraid of "the tourist trap" regarding the location so we preferred just to have a drink in the evening after the market closed, it was a good choice. 5 euros were a lot for a slice of... We walked the Ramblas and detoured to the covered market and found the Papitu. It looked charming and we sat and ordered tapas. Beer was 5.50 euros and although we ordered different beers to try them we all got the same. Then the tapas arrived, my wife had ordered some patas fritas 3.50 euros and how we laughed when the... This cafe was recommended to us so we visited for a lunch meal after we had spent time in the Boquiera Markets. All the tables were full so we were standing waiting when a solo woman at a table invited us to use the other 2 chairs…" no! no! no! no! you must wait for a table" he yelled. So... More

Crazy prices, slow service, bad food. Don't come here. We were waiting for ages, sangrias is a cheap one, potato? We've got a bag of chips instead of french fries..

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
