Closest match to real Indian food thus far in Spain

We discovered this "find" only a block away from our Hotel in Barcelona, while craving for some Indian food. We had two excellent meals at Namaste and as an Indian, having eaten at various Indian Restaurants in Madrid, Malaga and now Barcelona (on our 10 day holiday coming to an end now), I can... read more

Reading the other reviews of this restaurant makes me think that maybe we just got very unlucky, however that's not really an excuse for a restaurant to provide bad food. We visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening, found it completely empty except for maybe one other guest. I really like Indian food so I was looking forward to it... More

So this month Barcelona Curry Nights the curry club visited Namaste after the cinema for the inauguration of a film set in Mumbai and Barcelona leaving us with a good appetite for indian food. I chose the taster menu for the group which was the less expensive option at just 14 euros including a drink and although worried that it... More

Quite good Indian taste in Barcelona. I have just spotted that somebody has put a "terrible rating". That person for sure is somebody from the competition - and as such you should read it as really good. So far I have been at this restaurant few times and (many more times at Namaste I - the people who run it... More

We saw the restaurant close to the place where we were sleeping so we decided to come back there for dinner. We did not regret! It was past 11 when we arrived and we were received by very friendly and helpful staff. We chose for the Degustation menu with chicken tandoori and chicken curry. Both were great, the vegetables were... More

Was really disappointed. Service was very functional. We wanted to order matter pulao, but were advised to order veg biriyani instead, which we did. The biriyani was stale, smelt like left over food. Very pricey too. I didn't tip, I was so annoyed.

I found this restaurant, quite uptodate with dishes. Real North Indian food with good service. Prices are reasonable. I was not aware that is the 1st Indian restaurant of Barcelona. No wonder the food is good.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
