Good option in Eixample, Barcelona

We had a fish platter to share with wine. The fish was fresh, the house wine a good choice of Rioja - all at a very reasonable price. Nice local restaurant. .sit inside so you don't get the traffic. We had some wholesome Spanish cooking ..mostly locals which is what drew us to it, lamb and patotoes brava..we're delicious. The menu was varied and they also had a good selection of Tapas

We've had dinner here, 2 of us with starters, main dishes, desserts for 50€. It's quite a reasonable price as food is great, nothing special but fresh. Service very fast as well so all in all it's a normal spanish place, no fancy decor and stuff, just nice food. Staff nice, not overwhelming. I would recommend this place if one... More

The dishes here are not served with minimal design or unnecessarily garnished. The names of the menu are not misleading and confising. The restaurant itself dosen't follow a pretentious decoration. This is simply an authentic coazy spanish restaurant which serves what it promisses. No tourist traps here, as most of the diners are locals. The tapas are not excelent, but... More

Nothing fancy about this place, you will find this kind of bar / restaurant a lot in the cities, away from all te tourist traps. When you see the menu it always amazes me what they can prepare in a small kitchen behind the bar. wide range of selections for both meat and fish. And the best of it, all... More

Starters of mixed meats was a large plate of mixed cured charcuterie with a tomato and some salad in mayonnaise. Progress to a mixed fish grill of mussels, langoustines, salmon, monkfish and two other white fish. Excellent valid though completely lacking accompaniments unless you count the olive oil and garlic. As said very good value but a few side vegetables... More

Had tapas here sunday evening. Pretty good, looks like a local hangout. Decided to try dinner the following night. Not so good. Everything was pan fried and looked a bit sad. The spanish couple next to us sent their meals back twice. Quite a pleasant interior and external tables, but if you book you can do much better in the... More

a traditional place -- the salmon was the best either of us had ever tasted and the broiled calamari was amazing. The mixed salad was huge and wonderful. Tons of olives. The roasted veggie appetizer was a bit oily but I loved that... others might not. Did I mention the tons of olives? We were stuffed and skipped dessert but... More

We popped into this restaurant as it was very near our Best Western Dante hotel and enjoyed our experience. It is a very small place where locals come to eat. We started with Iberian ham and had veal steak and sole for the main course with a nice Rioja. Everything was perfectly cooked and it had a nice, cosy atmosphere.

After a full day of walking we were returning to our hotel looking for a restaurant. After passing on several other places we decided to stop here after talking with the waitress. We sat inside which is small however they have an upstairs dining room. The decor is interesting with mounted stag and boar's head and hanging legs of Iberian... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
