Your eyes go to their shopwindow while walking in the narrow and busy streets of my hometown. If you want to enjoy great baked and sweet products accompanied by tea or coffee and rest for a moment from the busy streets of downtown Barcelona, sneak inside Caelum. It's like entrying to an old convent to enjoy sisters tea time.

For four too little and too sweet cookies and two cappucino I found 18 euro,s too much. Also an ordeder mineral water was not served but mentioned on the bill. Sure after remarks it was removed. Me was told it is runned by nuns, but I could not see one.

We were staying in the area for a couple of days attending a conference. After visiting the shop one day in the evening and seeing an amazing display of freshly baked cakes and pastries we kept on coming back every day. Lovely atmosphere, there is a room downstairs with old medieval walls and a sunny upstairs room. The waiters are... More

This little cafe, tearoom feels like home. The service was friendly, tea & cakes absolutely delicious (we had the nut cake with orange filling). Cosy stop in Barri Gotic.

A brilliant place to stop for tea and cake........and to buy local cakes and cookies to take home. Everything made by nuns in this atmospheric shop, building and location. Top notch.

We loved the cakes in this little cafe so much that we called in every day in the afternoon for a "cake fix". They serve teas and coffees as well as delicious dessert wines, which adds an extra indulgence to their delicious cakes. In the cellar, there is a small area of seating where they serve light meals. One part... More

This cafe is called Caelum which means heaven. It is indeed a charming respite from tourism in the Calle, the Jewish quarter of old Barcelona. And surrealistically, it has a menu of goodies produced by nuns from all over Spain, beautifully set out. Against this heavenly Christian setting, if you arrive after 3.30 in the afternoon, you can descend the... More

After nearly three days of walking up and down the city, clocking up mile of mile, dodging the traffic and absorbing the heat, somewhere subdue was required. A quick detour into the Gothic quarter and we found this place. One look at the cake display and you will understand why passing foot traffic stop and stare in bewilderment at what... More

Thanks to some lovely fellow trip advisors this treasure was suggested to me to surprise my mum. How incredible. The ground floor alone is just packed with gorgeous goodies you can take home plus a little cafe with a beautiful cake table in the window. However if you wait until 3:30pm you can experience the basement which is just beautiful.... More

A friend brought us to this pastry shop and the food was very good. The dining room is in the basement and there is a very good display of all the pastries one can order. We ate very well in this place.
