Nice sangria, nice olives and bread. But that is all as far as food goes. We liked the setting and atmosphere.

We read that this place was one of the best places to eat in Barcelona so we had to give it a try. We were greeted by an unfriendly waitress who took us to our table and provided the menu's. After 20+ minutes no one had taken our drinks order or food order and the staff were standing around having... More

We ate here as it was one of the less busy restaurants with outdoor seating on Las Ramblas. On reflection we can see why. The service was a little slow, and whilst there was quite a bit of choice of the menu, the food wasn't great. I had a margarita pizza which was literally a £1.50 supermarket pizza. My husband's... Found this restaurant strolling through the gothic quarter. Beautifully decorated in an old traditional style. We went back for a second time for the paella which was just beautiful. Service was great and the live pianist in the background added to the ambiance.

An upscale restaurant close to La Rambla and just of Ferran, so you can easily sneak away from the large crowds but still have easy access to them. We arrived at 1930, and there was only one couple and 1 waiter present. He seemed a bit indifferent at his job, so we got nervous of our chose of locations initially.... More

The menu of the day was always very tasty and at a very good price for it's quality. The service was fast and very professional. They also have very good wines. We just loved the place!

Old decor, good food, good prices. Make sure you at least go downstairs to the bathrooms. Nice part of the old town.

My Girlfriend and I had a fab meal 26th Feb at the El Gran Cafe in Barcelona. We chose the Piano menu which was 3 courses with wine, water and coffee for 29€ each. The first great surprise was that you don't have to choose your starter they give you everything on the Menu. We had Veal for the main... More

I visited El Gran Cafe in January 2015, and was very much disappointed. The food was average- but nothing special. However, the service was so poor, which ruined my lunch. The staff who served our table was very rude and unprofessional. I don't think I will visit this place again in future.
