Loved the atmosphere here - filled with locals. We had some bombas, gambas and calamari which were all good although the gambas was expensive.

Hi, I was brought ere by a frind of mine who was born in la Barceloneta and I was impressed about the amazing quality of the food and autenticity of the place. We had very traditional things: croquetas ali oli and with their special chilly sauce, chicpeas with butifarra and fava beans and 2 big tostadas with tomate. The taste... More

Two of my friends and I had to wait 90 minutes to get a table at La Cova Fumada but it was 100% worth it. We went around 1:00pm so maybe going at an earlier time will save you from a long wait. This restaurant was a nice change from all the expensive places in Barceloneta and we loved that... More

On our second visit to Barcelona in less than a year, I brought some famliy members to try out authentic tapas at La Cova Fumada. I did warn them in advance that it's only a simple "hole in the wall" kind of place and not some posh restaurant by the beach. We arrived around 11.30 am just before the lunch... More

In spite of the fact that this restaurant has been here for over 70 years, I've just recently discovered it. The food is genuine, fresh shrimp, squid, sardines, whatever. They're official hours are: Mon-Fri 9:00 - 15.20 and Sat 9:00 - 13:20. Thurs & Fri 18:00 - 20:20. Closed on Sundays and holidays. On Thurs & Fri, you want to... More

No name on the door but you can smell the food a block away and as you walk closer, the volume of the conversation and laughter increases. Small, quant, local and my goodness delicious. My host suggested this as one of the few truly authentic Places to get Tapas and I will never doubt any suggestion he gives! Start with... More

Great tapas place in Barceloneta neighbourhood. It's quite "hidden" because it has wired opening times!! (opens @ 9am, and closes @13:20!!!) if you have the chance to pass by and find it open... don't hesitate and enjoy their delicious tapas & sangria or wine!
