A great experience

A brilliant tapas bar. Difficult to find as there is no sign stating the name of the restaurant. You will likely have to wait for a table to be free but it is worth it. Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant. It was packed with locals, which was the first good sign. It is very small, so accept the fact that it can be crowded and busy. The food was absolutely amazing. Very fresh and tasty. We did not really understand the menu (their English not so good Lol) but our waiter helped... More

I accidentally walked into this small restaurant. It did not even had a name at the entrance, burt it was packed with locals. This is immediately a positive sign. The menu was Spanish, but I noted they served seafood Tapas. We asked the waiter to bring us whatever he feels like and I must say it was a great success.... More

We arrived for breakfast at about 10.30am. The place was already full with locals and the friendly staff welcomed us in to the only free table. It’s a family run place doing awesome fresh seafood with great service and a bustling, relaxed and fun atmosphere. We had mussels with garlic sauce, perfectly cooked cod, sweet delicious fresh prawns, a perfectly... More

There's no sign on the door, but the place is super busy with locals and visitors alike. Find a seat and let them bring you an array of home made dishes!

It's been a while since my last visit to this bar, and nothing has changed. This is the best place for enjoying a "fork breakfast". Don't expect here lattes, pastries or fancy egg dishes. During my last visit we asked artichokes, large clams, octopus, squid, bombas (mashed potatoes meatballs) and butifarra with beans. For drinking, white wine, of course!!! The... More

I had been in Barcelona for 8 months before I finally got to try this place and it is just incredible. I go back as often as I can. Food is outstanding and makes the having to queue not even a question!

This restaurant has definitely the best tapas in Barcelona. The food is fresh, and the house wine is perfect. This is a family owned business and the service is excellent! The menu has a wide variety of Spanish specialities so there is something for everyone. This place has become an institution in Barcelona and be prepared to stand in line... More

An authentic Spanish eatery away from the typical tourist attractions. The food was full of flavour, all delicious, and all served in an extremely friendly manner. Would definitely return the next time we are in Barcelona!

After three days in Barcelona , decided to try this local rest. Had a little trouble finding it, but was blessed with a local lady showing us the way. Crowded but no stress , waited for 10 mins for our table . At the end, it was well worth the wait. The food the ambience, the staff so warm and... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
