La cova fumada is definitely my favourite place in town! Great food, great atmosphere, great service! What else do you need?! Try the bombas, recorte de pulpo, tallarines.. Actually all the food is awesome! There might be a line around lunchtime but the waiter writes you on a list and it is definitely worth waiting!

Very glad that we tracked down La Cova while exploring Barceloneta. Organized chaos in this small tapas bar made for a fun time and experience. Tapas was excellent as was the service. Definitely check this place out when in Barceloneta.

We gathered here for a get together : 12 people a tiny, cozy space. More authentic than this is not possible in Barcelona! We tasted "la bomba", mushrooms, sea-food and all the kitchen had to offer to us. The taste of the food is not on the refined gourmet side (meaning this is basic food at its best!) rather on... Went on a recommendation of a friend. It is excellent. Have a drink at the bar while you wait for a table to free up. Eat everything.

We had the grilled squid which was done to perfection, and the octopus with chick peas, toasted bread, bombas with lots of yummy hot sauce, grilled cod with tomatos, grilled mushrooms...and we finished all of it, just 2 adults and a toddler. Food was so good and the staff was very helpful too! The restaurant didn't need a sign, and... More

I started to visit this place a few years ago when all you saw were locals. I mean you can't go wrong with a place that doesn't have a menu in English or cash registry. If you're unsure about what to eat, then ask Magi. He is the friendly guy behind the bar, in the pyjamas looking pants, screaming out... More

You can eat standing at the bar or wait for a table. Even on quiet days, you'll queue for a table. It's always worth the wait. You can ask for a beer or a glass of vermouth whilst your waiting. People all over Barcelona know about this little eatery even if they've never been. You'll see local workmen eating lunch,... More

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday, wasn't sure where to go and we looked up on tripadvisor and I'm glade we did!! The freshest fish I've had in ages, totally worth to wait for a table. The place is very local and hard to find, but if you're looking for a good and fresh... More

We went on a recommendation and what an experience. Seriously good tapas in a fun, lively and local environment. It will be crowded and busy but it's worth the wait. Get your name on the list when you arrive, get a drink and they'll find you when there's space. This is a real treasure of a place and the food... More
