Authentic, true food and flavours. Probably overpriced, still great. Don't be surprised if you are made to share your table with strangers.

Staying nearby for a few days and passed this a number of times. All but one time it was packed. The time I did manage to get in was around 10am. Sat down, great coffee and beer with some nice bread too. All dishes are authentic and taste amazing. It is popular with locals which is always and good sign.... More

If you want authentic tapas, shoulder to shoulder with locals, eat here!!! It's a very informal small place, where you might be sharing a table with strangers. We arrived at 11am and most tables were full and drinking alcohol, so what to do but have some wine too. The food was great, pan con tomate, bombas, like a ball of... More

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of a local friend of ours. A real old-school hole-in-the-wall tapas place, it's got a great atmosphere, good prices and great food. Definitely worth a visit for an authentic tapas experience.

Fantastic experience. No menu, the waiter told us what was good and we ordered that! Food was delicious & super authentic, service was great and it was super good value for money! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Loved the atmosphere here - filled with locals. We had some bombas, gambas and calamari which were all good although the gambas was expensive.

Hi, I was brought ere by a frind of mine who was born in la Barceloneta and I was impressed about the amazing quality of the food and autenticity of the place. We had very traditional things: croquetas ali oli and with their special chilly sauce, chicpeas with butifarra and fava beans and 2 big tostadas with tomate. The taste... More

Two of my friends and I had to wait 90 minutes to get a table at La Cova Fumada but it was 100% worth it. We went around 1:00pm so maybe going at an earlier time will save you from a long wait. This restaurant was a nice change from all the expensive places in Barceloneta and we loved that... More

On our second visit to Barcelona in less than a year, I brought some famliy members to try out authentic tapas at La Cova Fumada. I did warn them in advance that it's only a simple "hole in the wall" kind of place and not some posh restaurant by the beach. We arrived around 11.30 am just before the lunch... More
