Great seafood

Great seafood for a very reasonable price. Go there early as a queue forms very quickly...we got there around 8:15 (it opens at 8pm for dinner) and finally seated around 9pm. There are as many locals as tourists and the atmosphere is lively. A gem!

Wonderful meal in a fast paced diner with local flair. Fish is fresh as can be and prices are very reasonable €5 -€8 for a plate. Do not order the combination plates, as they are not what the restaurant is known for. The closing time is 4pm. There will be a line-up outside so get there plenty early.

We saw the reviews on trip advisor so found the hotel in a back street of Barceloneta. When we saw it we hovered around wondering if this was a joke. Formica tables, no ambiance whatsoever, looked like your worst example of a greasy spoon inner city cafe! However after a few minutes the locals started queueing up and by opening... More

Excellent seafood! We stumbled across Can Mano, saw the queue, and a few days later returned for lunch. After a 45 minute wait (we left our names and went to an excellent cerveceria (El Vaso d'Oro) around the corner - we just had beers but the tapas here looked very tempting...), we were sat next to a local who told... And what an experience it was from start to finish !!! Can Mano was recommended to us by a local acquaintance and since we are die-hard pescado aficionados, it sounded like a perfect place for us. After about 15 minutes standing outside, milling around with a large crowd, we discovered that we have to put our names down on the... More

Glad I read up on this place before we went, as I had warning to get there before it opened. We showed up about 10 minutes before 8 and were about 5th in line. The whole time we ate there were people milling about on the sidewalk peering in the windows waiting to get in. Nice mix of locals and... More

I was lucky because I didn't wait at the que even a minute. But you need to get ready to wait at least half hour to get a dinner. But it is definitely worth it. Such a cute local restaurant with delicious and cheap menu. Next time I will get more wine

This place is amazing, it was on my long list of places to eat whilst we were in Barcelona but not near the top. I'm so glad we went. We had walked to Barceloneta early Friday evening for a cool down on the sea front & a pre dinner drink. We happened to be passing 5 minutes after it had... More

I am not a big fan of seafood, but this place definitely changed my mind! Small, cosy, family run place, not far from Barceloneta beach. You have to queue for a bit , but it's worth it! Delicious food , affordable, prepared with passion! Will definitely go back to this place when next time in Barcelona!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
