A real treat

Our hotel concierge at the Ohla Hotel book this place and it was every bit as good as he said. A fusion of Japanese, Spanish and with gastro influences, the menu is eclectic but fun. Let them come up with the degustation menu for you to surprise you, from the list of dishes, you are free to let... read more

When we entered the restaurant, my heart dropped. It's just ok inside, linen table clothes etc, but not very stylish and on a Monday evening there were very few people dining, so devoid of any atmosphere. The waitresses were lovely though, so friendly and helpful. They brought up wonderful breads and explained lots of their dishes. I ordered fish soup... More

We enjoyed our multi course meal and was happily surprised by dishes we had never tried before. It is very refreshing to find such a restaurant. The service was very good and the ambiance modern and sleek.

It seems Japanese food is a trend in Barcelona now and the chef here has made a beautiful twist in Catalan food. The use of sashimi, soy sauce, seaweed give the dishes a Japanese touch and is well matched. If you want something different from just tapas, this is the place to go.

What a delicious meal! Every detail was superb. They were very accommodating of my garlic and shellfish allergies. The anchovies were fresh and tasty. The Red Tuna Tartare was the best we have had, anywhere. The sea bass filet was light and fresh. Save room for the wonderful desserts - with the rice pudding and tart tatin being world class,... Their product and cooking expertise makes this restaurant a good option for seafood lovers. Big variety of local fish and flown in from other parts of Spain, particularly Galicia. Perfect cooking terms on the seafood, Zamburinas(small shell inn scallops are to die for!). Rices are also very good. Mild but very natural flavors. It's not cheap but it's worth every... More

Not really my ideal restaurant (I don't eat fish!) but my husband really wanted to go and the 1veggie choice of wild mushroom risotto was perfectly fine. He had a feast of fish, including a surprise appetiser of salmon ( 2 for him!) We were put in a rather sterile side room full of other non-Catalan or Spanish diners, but... More

Upon the recommendation of the hotel where we were staying as part of a tour, on our free night we had a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience here. We selected the 9 course tasting menu, which was primarily different types of seafood, each carefully prepared and delicious. We were not disappointed. To accompany these courses we had a perfect bottle of... More

The concierge in our hotel made a reservation for us. We were there early by Spanish standards, and there weren't very many people, but it did tend to fill up later on. Atmosphere is nice, art prices on the walls were interesting. All of the courses were very good, with a clean taste, not over loaded with sauces, but subtle... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
