Delightful place with good, but not great food

I ate outside on a Saturday night and the place in front of the restaurant was full of life and entertainment. The tapas dishes I had were tasty and good, although not as good as at some other places in Barcelona. This is a place that I would return to for the location and the ambience.

I realize I may be in the minority here but the experience was brutal. Sat at the bar, waited 20 min for water which I had to request 3 times. water was also served warm. I watched the bartender take a dirty glass which another server just dropped off and simply dry it with a soiled cloth and put it... More

Went here with friends while we were in Barcelona for the weekend. The place was always packed with people and online reviews ranted and raved about the place. The food was good, but nothing special, and everything was way overpriced: fresh OJ was €4 and a small salad was about €9 (without meat or cheese). Atmosphere was nice but, again,... More

Very nice restaurant in the center of Barcelona. They offer really good tapas and main dishes. When you add good wine, you will love it. There are quite a lot of local people as well as tourists, so you should expect to wait for a while until they will offer you any free table. Staff is very helpful and friendly.... More

We visited Bar Lobo twice while we were in Barcelona, it was conveniently located a block off La Rambla. They have a variety of traditional tapas that you see on many menus, but I think the octopus and tuna tataki were the best. a well, they have many options if you aren't In the mood for that...burgers, pastas, salads. Good... More

Found by chance and tried on a whim. My wife and I are so glad we did. The service was fast, efficient and nothing was too much trouble; the menu was varied and good value; the food very fresh and presented very well; and the combination of taste and aroma were magnificent. We recommend the eggplant in honey and sauteed... More

Food was very nice but the service was terrible. 6 of us ate here and most of our food come very quickly and was lovely but one friends didn't come until we had all finished. There was no apologies for this and our waiter seemed to not care the entire time, which really let down our experience because the food... More

A great place to take a break from Las Ramblas with efficient staff. Food good, not great, and very helpful staff. People watching a given.

We had been in bar Lobo for lunch a couple of years ago and we had enjoyed it, so I thought let's try it for breakfast . No luck this time ... I ordered a combo plate called the "Churchill" combo (bacon, toast, tomato and and scrambled eggs, + coffee and orange juice). The result was that except the fresh... More

We arrived around 8 p.m. and were seated at one of only 2 open tables, right near the door, and given menus. Server came by around 5 minutes later and we ordered drinks and said we had not yet decided on Tapas. Took over 10 minutes for him to return to see if we were ready to order. Food and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
