Stayed for a coffee and beer. Staff is friendly and the location is close to the la ramblas but much calmer, i would come here any time for a drink!

Cheap and classy place, just the way we all like it! Good burgers and nice looking tapas. Close to La Rambla.

Nice place right by the Rambla. the inner design is very nice and warm, very welcoming. we cane for breakfast. the service was good. there is a huge gap between the high price and the portion you get.

The setting is nice--just steps off La Rambla, across from Le Meridien hotel. Nice high ceilings, and the restaurant looks nice. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment, and my first bite into one of the chicken wings revealed it to be just horribly undercooked--just a step away from raw. Disgusting. They took them back and re cooked them but, still,... More

Bar Lobo was very close to our hotel. It has indoor and outdoor seating. Thecstaff are pleasant and helpful with good English. The menu is varied and the food is good.

Just off the busy streets of Les Rambles is this delicious restaurant! We are staying at the Meridien and the concierge suggested we try it. Must have the fried eggplant with honey and balsamic vinegar (suggested by our waiter). We shared a bunch of tapas which were all great portion sizes and all tasty for a great price.

I've been and been back here countless times. Sometimes I get unlucky because it's full. The fare is consistently creative and tasty - tapas or full plates. They set the bar by which I measure all fried and honeyed eggplants in Spain! I've recommended it time and time again to friends - none have left dissatisfied. Best to select several... More

This restsurant is conveniently located in a quiet place behind the ramblas. It offers excellent catalunyan food for a reasonable price. Starting with entrees like tapas and up to a sirloin steak everything is tasty and in good proportion. Because of the location you see mostly locals and few tourists. The place is usually full so book in advance, and... More

I really don't recommend you to go to this place. We went there for a glass of sangria and a portion of jamon. When I asked that I wanted my sangria without ice, the bar attender made a really unpleasant face like if I were out of my mind and then when we asked for jamon she said: "are you... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
