Be patient and the seafood will reward you

Went to La Paradeta after our tour of Barcelona. It was a recommendation by our tour guide and after finding out that they are a chain restaurant I was a little skeptical and cautious. I like to eat local and especially mom and pop places if I can. When we entered it was utter chaos as the line... read more

Waiting at the line takes approximately 30 minutes. Then you can choose your food, actually very fresh. Cooking takes about 5 minutes and the way is simple. Selfservice. Unfortunately toilets are inadequte and dirty.

Went to the restaurant last year in september, and has been speaking about the experience ever since.. So today we brought some family from Denmark, and went there again.. Such a good experience - and cheap too.. Don't let the cheap looking dining area fool you - it's a hidden pearl:)

If you love fish - go there! We weren't really hungry but just the look at the fresh fish lead us to eat.. way too much, but everything was so delicious. And economic! €36 to get more than full for two people.

I can't believe what quality of food was so close and yet, just far enough away from the Gaudi tourist attraction. The surroundings are very basic, but clean with fantastically fresh sea food. The staff were very friendly, but it is part self service. 4 of us eat there and loved the food, but you have to be happy getting... More

This was the best for those adventurous diners who avoid the places where everyone speaks English and the food is predictable! If you are an. "Ugly" tourist please avoid this place...it's not for you :). You walk into what looks like a fish market. English is not spoken. You point to some delicious fresh food on display and do your... As has been said, it was busy when we went (appx. 14:00), and we came with a 6-month-old in a stroller. Their service was wonderful. They spoke English, gave recommendation of what sauce to match with our fish (a good choice), and found us a table quickly near the high-chairs. While it wasn't the best seafood I've ever had, it... Be prepared to wait in line for half an hour, maybe more, unless you are the first there. After the wait, someone asks you what from today's catch would you like to have prepared for you? If you're not sure he can recommend something (will not stir you wrong). After that you go and pay, head for the table and... More

Don't expect high cuisine but a fun experience with fresh fish. La Paradeta works as a fish shop and you chooce what you eat and how is cooked. Nothing else, nothing less.

Fresh fish and well cooked. At a affordable price, normal. Friendly staff and good service. No worries if you are a group. 100% recommendable after a visit to the sagrada familia!
