very good food in an area you would not expect

We came across this restaurant by accident on our first day in Barcelona. Having left our bags at the hotel before checking in. We had spent a good few hours wandering around the centre when could contain our hunger no longer. We came out on to las rambles from the gothic area and thought we would... read more

Nothing really, as a tourist you feel welcome in this restaurant, they are few in and around Barcelona. The food is tasty, served with a smile, not gourmet food but this is not the place for, here you will have pub food type, taller de tapas is a Catalan version of our English aspiring gastro pubs or French brasseries .... My friends and I ate at Taller de Tapas on a recent trip to Barcelona. The staff and food were both excellent. I would highly recommend discussing the wine you want with your waiter as they are very knowledgeable and will definitely provide a wonderful wine to complement the food.

When I walk the street, I found this bar. It has nice atmosphere. I orders some tapases and wines. It's taste really nice and all staffs are so kind (I talked with Pheet, I had good time thanks). I recommend you this bar. とてもよいバーでした。メインストリートからすぐです。お店は綺麗ですし、店員さんもとても親切でした。 魚のタパス、とてもおいしかったです。バルセロナに来たらまた来たいです!

Before we left Ireland we tried to make a reservation for Valentine's Day evening and were told they were booked out. Luckily we were walking around La Rambla the night before near our hotel and came across Taller de Tapas. So we went in a got a table. We were in the mood from some Tapas and wine. The service... accidentaly stumbled upon this place as the neraby Cerveseria Catalana been extreamly crowded (where we spent the last couple of dinners). I must admit that the food quality is about the same, and atmosphare might even beats it by a small margin. All tapas chosen from the daily menu been lovely - recommend you to look at those too.

Lovely Tapas and helpful waiters. The Spanish Tortilla and Potatoe with Chilli was great, also the Prawn in chilli oil and garlic was amazing..... After eating here and at the more seemingly Busier Catalana, i would say that Taller de Tapas beats it by a small margin.

This place was one of my favorite meals in Spain. The and shank was by far one of the best I've ever had. The sangria is strong enough to have you singing la vida loca after just 2 glasses because it is fuerte! Even the pan con tomate (bread with tomatoe) appetizer that we had was awesome and full of... We stumbled into this restaurant while on our first day wondering around Barcelona. With no expectations we accepted a warm welcome and joined only 4 other customers for a (very) early lunch. The food was a joy: octopus dishes extremely tender, wonderfully textured ham and lovely egg and vegetable plates; all served with a warm smile by a very efficient... More

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
