My husband and I visited for lunch, we've had an evening meal there several years ago and thought lunch would be good. I opted for the set lunch menu and my husband had a set steak lunch which came with a pudding. Firstly a yellow soup arrived for me which wasn't on the menu and I didn't want but unfortunately... It's too bad knowing that you didn't feel well served and the waiters not repair that. We work to prevent this doesn't happening again and asked you to give us a new opportunity if you come back to Barcelona. ¡Greetings and thanks for your comment! More

This restaurant has been around for 15 years and has consistently served good quality steaks, OK wines and nice puddings at reasonable prices. Service is typically awful in Barcelona but El Foro's staff all appear to be immigrants and are thus polite, good humoured and helpful. That said, I read the review by johnfjohnston, “Rude Dude … O.K. Food”. I... More

Beautiful restaurant with very good food. Try the spinach and goat cheese ravioli with porcini mushroom sauce. Ask for Silvio to be your server. He can speak Spanish, Portuguese, English and French and knows everything about NBA basketball.

When ever I'm in center of Barcelona and I want to sit in a nice restaurant for lunch I go to the foro. The food is great the place has a nice atmosphere and the lunch menu give a great value for the price. Highly recommended. Much more then all those turístic Rambla restaurants.

Sparsely populated prior to lunch we requested one of four vacant tables at a window. Refused. They were set for four. Two of the already occupied tables had only two persons. We pointed that out. "Nope!" Seated then at the off/on ramp the servers all use from the bar and kitchen to the tables. Food was just O.K. As we... More

Good Morning John. We have the rule that the couples sit at tables for two and they leave room for tables of four later. The day that you came did not happen and reached a customer who always comes 3:30 p.m., it was late and the table was not going to take, which is why he sit there. It wasn't... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
