Chilled break from the sun with some excellent food!

I spent a couple of hours here this afternoon with a couple of glasses of wine and some really tasty appetisers (I honestly couldn't tell you what they were but I will attach a picture). The only thing I would say is that I wanted a half portion of the sausage appetiser I ordered and a full portion... read more

We were hungry and it was raining, so we stepped into this restaurant after quickly checking the menu in English. My wife and I ordered multicourse meals, and our teen sons ordered a pizza and a steak. Everything they served us was well cooked and delicious. The servings were large, and we all felt full when we left. The total... More

Six of us visited this restaurant as our final meal in Barcelona before leaving this brilliant city to return home to England. Our experience of El Foro was not so good though. Two of our party got food that was quite different to what was described in the menu and the staff were quite indifferent if not a little argumentative... More

In the heart of the old, wealthy merchant El Born quarter, this restaurant is welcoming to both tourists and locals. It's a little pricy, but the food is fairly good. English menus are available. It's a good place for large groups. The manager is unorganized and forgetful. He made the work of the waiters more difficult.

Choose other places above this. Food ok; price above quality; staff pushy. They brought the wrong starter, then the manager came to tell me that's what I ordered. Customer always right....?

My husband and I visited for lunch, we've had an evening meal there several years ago and thought lunch would be good. I opted for the set lunch menu and my husband had a set steak lunch which came with a pudding. Firstly a yellow soup arrived for me which wasn't on the menu and I didn't want but unfortunately... It's too bad knowing that you didn't feel well served and the waiters not repair that. We work to prevent this doesn't happening again and asked you to give us a new opportunity if you come back to Barcelona. ¡Greetings and thanks for your comment! More

Stumbled across this place by chance one evening. Nice place, interesting decor inside and staff speak good English. We ate dinner there, the appetisers wer fine, nothing special but all ok. The main course we both had was the salmon fillet which was superb, beautifully cooked with julienne vegetables and a sauce which was heavenly. Good wine list too. Would... More

This restaurant has been around for 15 years and has consistently served good quality steaks, OK wines and nice puddings at reasonable prices. Service is typically awful in Barcelona but El Foro's staff all appear to be immigrants and are thus polite, good humoured and helpful. That said, I read the review by johnfjohnston, “Rude Dude … O.K. Food”. I... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
