Touristy but not bad

Definitely aimed at the tourists (particularly Americans I think) but the food was good, not very expensive and the service was quick and easy. We ordered 6 tapas dishes to share between three which was plenty - we didn't finish it all. I can wholeheartedly recommend the patatas bravas, the... read more

We have picked this restaurant based on suggestions in lonely planet and unfortunately we were disappointed. Our food arrived much later than expected and we did not get our complete order, they have forgotten our salads and the paellas were tasteless & oily. Chicken was ok but still nothing special.

Very nice restaurant with very usefull and friendly service. We've been here as couple, with friends, with our children: allways been nice and the food and suggestions are good. One time we made a wrong choice, but that's about taste and favorites. Very charming terras with regular street entertainment.

Great location. Fair prices. We had the eggplant hummus and feta; quite tasty. Then had the "take away" roast chicken deal: whole roasted chicken and French fries and a quart of beer. Very nice. Took it " home" to our apt next door at BCN Gotic and had a lovely dinner. Warning: fries are salty so have beer or cold... More

We had dinner at La Taberna del Cobre and the service was good but the food was pretty average. My son didn't enjoy his fish and chips and things were a bit cold - we were sitting in the outdoor patio area. We didn't enjoy the octopus tapas because it had a slimy part to it. I looked around and... More

We came here twice for dinner, and we couldn't recommend this place any higher. The food was delicious, the prices great, and the service absolutely superb. We ate patatas bravas, croquetas, arroz a la cubana, guacamole totopos, grilled vegetables, aubergine hummus, and seafood paella. We would recommend all of the dishes! To drink, I had beer and my girlfriend a... More

We ate here for lunch. The service was good, fast and friendly, the food good too - we had three tapas and a plate of the most delicious ham. But actually, the wonderful service and honest conscientiousness of the people who worked here came later. We left the restaurant, and headed to our next destination when I realised I didn't... We ordered the two person tapas dinner and it was wonderful! The meal came with Sangria and he enjoyed the beer. We also bought another glass of each. They made stuff separate due to my food allergies and was very nice about it. At the end they had a nice dessert also included in the set menu which was very... More

We liked this restaurant so much, we returned twice. We had several of the tapas and the seafood paella. All were excellent. The servers were very helpful with describing dishes and were very quick bringing the food -- and the drink! The restaurant has an outside area -- service is not quite as quick there. We had drinks outside, but... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
