Sophisticated tapas

La Taverna del Clinic offers a fancy version of regular tapas. Except for some slices of Jabugo and some bread with tomatoes, you will find a large variety of tapas dishes all re-invented by the chef. The octopus comes in 2 versions: one accompanied by a mix of potatoes and greens or a potato... read more

One can sense the quality prevalent in this place on entrance - everywhere is immaculately clean and all the glassware (of which there are tons) sparkling! We were led to a delightfully private corner, which being full of mirrors and glass still manages to give one a sense of privacy. Service was immaculate and we followed the menu de jour... More

We had the five course plus desert degustation menu here last night and were not disappointed. The tastes and textures all married well and the service was friendly and really good.

After whatever not so tasty food in Portugal, we were having good time in Barcelona... Then this place... Unrealistically Fantastic!!!! Their Patatas Bravas is the best I had in my life. No joke. Ceviche was excellent. Morel mushroom dish was amazing. Everything else was well above average. I strongly recommend this place. The chef is the rising star and foods... More

Well, having been to BCN many times now and eaten all around town now (Eixample, Diagonal, Parallel, Gracia), visited La Taverna del Clinic as part of a 'food tour'. While the some of the food was a nice surprise (i.e. patatas bravas some of the best ever had), many of the other 'tapas' fell short to the point that we... More

We were invited to dinner by our hosts and we were told that he does not know what to expect but the food is good! We ordered some tapas deconstructed octopus which was superb. The red wine which was recommended was excellent. The signature dish do papa test braves was a treat to see and eat. We ordered tuna the taste... More

The best food that we had in Barcelona. I had the ternera and the jamon Serrano. Book in advanced since is always really busy and is the number 1 chef of the up and comers in Spain

We had an excellent lunch at La Taverna. The service was first class. The wine that the waiter paired with the meal was very very good. The highlight were the desserts. Make sure that you leave room for them.

La Taverna del Clinic is a modern restaurant located in Eixample, near the Hospital Clinic. We choose to share some tapes, and it was a very good choice, because all dishes were excellent! And the wine that waiter recommended us was unusual and excellent, let yourself recommend by him! We tasted (for 3) foie, a salad, patates braves, octopus deconstruction... More

We visited here as one of the stops on our tapas food tour. It's very modern and offers a modern twist on tapas. We tried a few dishes, but most people enjoyed the patatas bravas best. I won't spoil it for you, but it's fair to say they are not your standard variety! I recommend this place as it's a... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
