Great food

While walking through the area, we decided to enter the market and have lunch on the restaurant. The food was excellent. The Cordero deshuesado, the marinera rice and the gambas had great flavor. The dessert was awesome. Definitely order the miloja.

This is an excellent indoor place to read your newspaper over morning coffee and a baguette, some tortilla or a croissant. Around lunch, the place transforms into an incredibly busy bustling restaurant with long lines for tables. If you don't want to wait in line, try the bar in the front instead. The bar serves tapas and drinks, opposed to... More

I fell in love with this restaurant since 2012. I have sat at the bar, at the tables around the bar and at the tables inside. Only thing missing is sitting outside. I recommend everything. The menu is so eclectic that you basically can satisfy any craving you have. Last time, it was 5 of us and we sat at... More

At first blush, this restaurant seems out of place in the market and we almost gave it a miss despite a friend's recommendation. We were so pleased to have stayed because everything was a taste sensation. From the razor clams to the artichokes to the sausage with foie gras. The lunch really made our visit to the Santa Caterina Market;... More

We really enjoyed our tapas meal here while vacationing in Barcelona. Food was fresh and prepared nicely. Wonderful authentic tapas!

Attached to a local market, Cuines Santa Caterina looks like it was "designed". There are heavy wooden tables with large trees inside and it struck me as a bit concocted but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. For dinner the restaurant opened at 8pm and there was a line forming but we had reservations. After a delicious and quite large... More

The place is located at Barcelona "second" market and was surprisingly good. The food is very tasty and diversified, the service is adequate and interior is very nice.

Finding authentic, quality food in Bacelona isn't actually easy. There are many places claiming to make good food when in fact, they are just tourist traps. Cuines Santa Caterina is the best experience I had in Barca in regards to food. The quality of the food, service and atmosphere were just class. I enjoyed every moment I spent there and... More

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
