Lovely food. Worth visiting

Had the pleasure to had dinner at Cuines Santa Caterina. Lovely food, nice setting. Service was a little bit too brash but it was ok. Do try it if you are about the old Barcelona side. Enjoy.

We went there for tapas, which were just average, as for my taste way too greasy! Service was ok, not too bad for Barcelona's standards. Location is great, but I think we won't be coming back.

We enjoyed a beautiful morning at the mercat Santa Caterina ( market Santa Caterina). This restaurant is connected to the market. Beautiful ambiance with exposed wooden beams and airy feel. Fresh food with a non pretentious presentation. The staff were attentive and friendly. We had pollo yakatori, pasta bolognase, Cantonese fried rice, fresh tomato and motzerella salad, and a chicken... More

A wonderful fresh cooked Asian fusion bar,, very at the weekends they start cooking the world cuisine from 8pm, but you can get tapas before then. Some staff were very helpful and service was excellent. The chefs cook from behind the bar, and were fabulous fast and very professional. Exquisite taste of the food was delicious, including great fresh fish... More

The Cuines (catalan meaning Kitchen) is in Santa Catarina Municipal Market Place in Barcelona, Spain, where I'm leaving, after I retired from my 50 years Architect career. We (my wifw and muself) moved in Barcelona four uears ago and are leaving in Carrer Comtal, a central street, near Plaça Catalunya and El Corte Ingles, the best supermarket in the city.... More

All our tapas, including beef and fois gras roll, fois gras-topped grilled pork (yes, I like fois gras!), calamari (very tender), smoked salmon, and patatas bravas, were excellent, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Service was very good, with outside seating. No doubt they benefit from easy access to all those fantastic offerings at Sta. Caterina market.

Had diner inside at this place with 2 kids, everything was tasteful - took the hummus/guacamole as appetizer, cod, monkfish and hamburger for the main courses, ice cream and catalane cream for dessert, all good. The sangria and fresh fruit juices were also excellent. They charge for the bread - without asking - which is annoying given the menu's price... More

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in.
