Attached to a local market, Cuines Santa Caterina looks like it was "designed". There are heavy wooden tables with large trees inside and it struck me as a bit concocted but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. For dinner the restaurant opened at 8pm and there was a line forming but we had reservations. After a delicious and quite large... More

The place is located at Barcelona "second" market and was surprisingly good. The food is very tasty and diversified, the service is adequate and interior is very nice.

Finding authentic, quality food in Bacelona isn't actually easy. There are many places claiming to make good food when in fact, they are just tourist traps. Cuines Santa Caterina is the best experience I had in Barca in regards to food. The quality of the food, service and atmosphere were just class. I enjoyed every moment I spent there and... More

This restaurant is in the lovely Santa Caterina market. I was expecting an overflow of the market with a slightly rough at the heels feeling to the place, fresh produce from the market finds its way to my plate via the grill or oven... instead I found an odd meeting of Legoland with chain restaurant. The food should have been... More

Really nice atmosphere sitting in the market. We hadn't made a reservation so were seated at the food bar (which was actually nicer as we could watch the chefs at work). The food was all fresh and cooked well. We had padron peppers (my favourite), tempura vegetables, chorizo paella and iberico ham. All washed down with a nice bottle of... More

Fairly slick place adjacent to the Mercat with a wide menu and attractive plates. Its as if the owners train the staff on being rude. And don't eat the bread unless you really want it--or you'll get a little surprise on your bill. Too many other wonderful choices nearby to fall for this slick joint.

With its open plan kitchen and flexible and diverse menu this is a hard restaurant to dislike. Our first visit was based on a recommendation from our hotel. We were so impressed that we ate there a second time; lazy and unimaginative aren't we? The menu is a grid based on several food categories. Fancy roast or fish or pasta... More

Fast service, all the dishes use fresh market produce from the market directly next door to restaurant. All meats, poultry, noodles, rice, dumplings, fish, curry, grilled veg, soup, miso, salads, sushi rolls, amongst other options. olives and bread were amazing here. A lovely healthy fresh option not swimming in greasy fat or over salted . lucky to find this place

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel for an evening meal. I understand it is built into a market although being the evening this was closed. It doesn't seem possible to book a table here (at least evening time) so although the restaurant is quite large and has many covers you might end up waiting a while at... More

We returned here and had both the tapas and the restaurant menu. Great range of tastes on offer. we had the fried aubergines with honey - twice, absolutely fab as was the pork fillet with foie gras. Also had the iberian ham which was great. Don't really get the opening hours which didn't seem to be advertised. Lovely atmosphere and... More
