As most of restaurants in Barcelona (downtown) overpriced and tourist-oriented altough I must admit most of the dishes are well prepared and tasty. Service is just ok, this is a problem in Barcelona, waiters are maybe overwhelmed with so many tables and guests, but don't expect too much attention. I always go with clients to let them try local food... More

A bit disappointed after our last meal here (5 years ago). The food was good, but not as wow as I remembered. The service was a bit brusk (the female waiters not the male ones).

My friends and I stopped here for tapas as it looked busy which is always a good sign when looking for a decent place to eat.We enjoyed the grilled baby calamari, grilled with garlic. The grilled tuna with guacamole, which was basically almost sushi and so fresh. We also had grilled vegetables, also extremely fresh. the mini burgers and prawns... More

Went there on a late December evening with a party of four, including two 18-year old, not-so-easy-to-please youngsters. I liked the place a lot, we had efficient service in the bar while waiting for a table, the waiters did their best to shorten the time you had to queue for it, etc. I had the nicest paella with the rice... The menu hits many ethnicities is really well laid out so you can see the ethnicitiy of the cuisine as well as wether the meal is meat related, vegetarian, rice based, etc. We ate at the bar where the chefs prepare the food. Fun to watch all the amazing dishes coming out. We were a little dissapointed in the suckling... More

Santa Caterina Cuines is a lovely modern open kitchen style restaurant attached to the Santa Caterina market in the Born district, close to the Barcelona Cathedral. It is well worth the walk from Las Ramblas. The market itself is also lovely, very clean and feels more local than La Bocqueria. The restaurant serves breakfast and tapas from the bar area... More

What is it with Barcelona overhype? Well, it is of course the worst of outcomes of excessive tourism. It is boom and bust on a daily basis. Cuines Santa Caterina is a good example of this. They are so enamored with their own reputation that they have forgotten the basics: the most important qualities of any restaurant are consistency, quality... More

Cuina de Santa Caterina Barcelona I do not know what all the fuss is about, service is terrible and food mediocre, yet the place is packed. We went there for lunch, a party of six, and one of us got sick. Plates arrive cold and some of us where starting on dessert while others hadn’t received their main course. Prices... More

I came here last summer, after remembering it being a cool, funky place with something for everyone to eat. It was still as I remembered, located near the Santa Caterina market. While we were almost tapa-ed out in Barcelona, this restaurant offers a different take on tapas, with vegetarian, asian, Italian, mediterranean dishes, as well as traditional tapas and good... More

Located inside the food market (Santa Caterina) this restaurant offers a great variety of meals cooked from three different kitchens withe the freshest ingredients. The decor is rustic, yet very hip and modern. Great atmosphere and lots of locals dining here. By the way, this market is much more appealing and has better prices/quality than the overpriced and overcrowded Boqueria... More
