We ate at the Passeig de gracia branch...sat upstairs as was already busy at 8 on a Sunday night. Too few staff led to long waits and cold food and coffee. Would give it a miss next time

Arrived Today and this stood out as the bar to visit. Nice beer. And good meaty tapas. Fillet steak and nice Spanish Ham being the stand out dishes. Not great if you're a veggie and beware most stuff comes with cheese but very nice when washed down with a great pint of bit burger. I'll be back!

Tried this place because a friend recommended their pinchos. I must say the pinchos were pretty good! They have hot and cold pinchos - we ordered from both and we found the cold pinchos so much better than the hot ones. My favorite was with the king prawns with caviar! But everything was great though. We got a liter of... More

I've been to this place every time I have come to Barcelona. Sadly this time around the good food was more than spoilt by the unbelievably poor service. It did not seem like any of the servers were interested in their jobs including the lady at the front. We waiting 15mins for orders to be taken. It took more than... More

We visited this Tapas bar last time we were in Barcelona so made a point of seeking it out again. There are in fact three of these in Barcelona and this time we visited the one close to La Pedrera. There is a good variety of hot and cold tapas, the cold ones are delivered instantly but the hot ones... More

We had a mix of their tapas menus which included desserts as well and were very satisfied with the offer. I enjoyed the cold plates the most, which included shrimps, octopus, salmon, cheese creams, tomatoes etc. Among the desserts the cheesecake was awesome and also the mojito cream. A bit pricy but we were overall satisfied, and the waiters were... More

When we visited Barcelona we went to this restaurant innumerous times. After finding it and experiencing Tapas for the first time, we were hooked! The variety of the tapas was excellent and the place itself was very nice - great ambience and very friendly service. Loved the personal menus at the table that depicted the various tapas you could order... More

we ate at the Txapela on Passeig de Gracia, in the outdoor pavilion. The menu is numbered and has pictures of each type of tapa, about 57 in all. Since it was our first night in Barcelona, this aided greatly in ordering items we liked. In later nights, at other tapas restaurants, it was more like guessing.

Unlike the tourists traps around it, La Txapela is the real thing, a no-nonsense tapas bar frequented by locals. Pinxos are moderately priced at Euro 1.50-2.50 each, service is very friendly and the hot dishes are freshly prepared after you order.
