Reasonable price-quality

Such prompt service that we were served our appetiser prior to the wine being served. Plates were taken from the table before all of us finished. It felt like a "quick eat and go" service. Shame as decor and surroundings are nice.

This restaurant was close to my hotel and looked expensive however it turned out they had very good fixed price menus both for lunch and dinner. It is a great concept part if a chain with different names and locations around the city that serve reasonably good 3 course meal for 10 euros for lunch and about 20 euros for... More

This was not such a good experience. The room is vast, very impressive. The service is devoid of any humanity The menu had potential. However, when the food arrived this was less than mediocre. The pumpkin soup was cold, the nachos non descript. The lamb was overly fatty and unpleasant. The tuna main course was good and the bed of... More

Found as an alternative to Napa (which I've booked for tomorrow), we were told we were 'lucky' to get a table. The service was varied, two of the male waiters were very friendly and chatty, but other members of the wait staff were considerably less so. Appetisers - bread served warm, but with no plates or butter/condiments which was a... More

This restaurantvwas near our hotel and looked really lovely. Looks are deceptive. The staff were not friendly or helpful. The restaurant was very large and not full but they sqeezed everyone onto tables close together leaving large areas of the room empty. The food was cold and terrible. This was by far the worst meal we had whilst in Barcelona.

The restaurant offered very good service. Expect to eat quite well. The menu options are more adventurous than the traditional tapas-focused eateries in Barcelona. One can find wider-Mediterrenean dishes. Though they have european dishes, at times, they still retain spanish interpretations of such dishes to produce mixed results. For example, their cheesecake is more like a crema catalana. The wine... More

Balthazar's is a fabulous place to take in the flavors of the city! The restaurant is spacious, the food excellent but the service and staff don't measure up - four our of five!

If you want to define the word terrible, so go to Balthazar. Let's start with the staff. Very, very rude (and look, me and my wife speak Spanish). Arriving there, as the hostess saw that we were foreigner, treated us like crap. She left us waiting for a while saying nothing and then came back telling us to seat at... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
