Description: La Biblioteca is placed in the old city center just close to the famous Boqueria Market and 5 minutes from Les Rambles. It is runed by a young and very professional team directed by Pedro Lorenzo & Guillem Oliva. Our gastronomic proposal is home style catalan cooking, half portions & tapas, with refined techniques. Almost all of our ingredients are seasonal & from local producers, farmers, fisherman's (except pepper, sugar,...) We have a great 4 year old Iberian Ham & Charcuterie from Guijuelo, 5 different types of Catalan artisanal cheeses, local olives assortiment, local oysters & seafood from El Delta de l'Ebre.

Only a couple of minutes from the bustling Ramblas, you find this super restaurant with excellent service and great food at a reasonable price. We were curious and asked about their use of (local) food and wine, and this led to an exceptionally nice evening. They came with "extras", and even brought out the plate where the bees had produced... More

We ended up at this restaurant when the tapas bar we tried to go to was too busy to get in. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and the food was great. When we asked questions, the wait person brought us samples of the ingredients (honeycomb, fresh onions). I am not a foodie, but this was one of... More

This is a restaurant that doesn't look all that trendy from the street but if you like simple food cooked very well by a passionate team then this is a good place to visit. We asked to sit near the kitchen which was a good idea because we could see what was going on and how the food was being... More

The quaint restaurant hidden in Raval has a very friendly staff and meticulous chef that can be seen cooking from the dining room. They offered Catalonian fare with a unique twist. The grilled onion starter with soft cheese and homemade burrata cheese with pesto was delicious. The baked fish entree was unique and very fresh.

If you want a change from traditional Spanish food I can recommend this. The food was modern, fresh, beautifully plated. It is true that the portions are not large - four large red prawns served without adornment for example were sweet and delicious but expensive at 20 euros. The service was excellent, the wine list good, and the prices otherwise... More

We stopped on for a 3 course lunch for only 12 euros including wine. My potato omelette was wonderful. The waitress also went out of her way to answer my questions and info about directions.

The menu and dishes are designed with some fantasy from the chef, but most of what we tried didn't taste much good. The musrooms in paella (called rice with broth) were bitter, ox tail in another dish bland. Overall,, it seems the chef has some imaginationtoinvent, but doesn't have the feeling for the taste. On top of this experience, 10%... More

When we arrived for dinner, we discovered that this restaurant had changed ownership almost a year ago but we stayed anyway as the atmosphere looked very nice. We were disappointed by the dishes (crab friters, fried fish, steak tartar, arroz mountain & sea) the only good dish was the caramelised onion with fromage blanc. In all it was very expensive.... I first came to this restaurant in 2010 and I was overly impressed by the creative and delicious cuisine. It was excellent and deserved a Michelin star. On this trip to Barcelona, I went out of my way to eat at this restaurant again but things had changed quite dramatically. I was given a table next to the toilets, the... More
