A Little Gem

Stumbled across this little gem of a deli/tiny restaurant during a short break with my daughter. The place was packed with many locals and a few tourists. It had a really 'homely' feel, and a great atmosphere. Although people were being turned away at the door, we were not hurried by the staff, and... read more

My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant without knowing what to expected.. We had 3 sangria, water, coke and 2 second courses. The food was very tasty, well cooked and "hecho con amor". The sangria was the best we had so far! For just 4€ per glass we got a REAL sangria with a lot more than water, fruit... More

Nice little place for a drink. Friendly staff who indulged us trying to speak Spanish! Cool art on display and quirky table coverings. Food is ok. Nice enough but much better tapas available elsewhere. Would recommend for a place to rest your feet with a cold beer while wandering through Barcelona's gothic quarter.

Gothic quarter just off the rambla on one of the cute little side street corners. Excellent quality food. Great prices.

I saw the chalk sign out front. The prices looked reasonable. It is more of a cafe/deli than a tapas bar. Very nice staff. Spoke english. Free wifi. I had some pickled mussles that were awesome. We also enjoyed a mixed meat plate, bread and tomato, tortilla, seafood cocktail, nachos, beers, etc. The place was super crowded when we arrived... More

we were strolling aound the gothic quarter when we decided to get lunch at the venus, it looked nice and smelled good so we decided to go inside. we ordered different tapas and they were all very good, having lived in madrid I really have to say it is hard to find an excellent tapas bar in barcelona BUT the... Just before I start: I would not call this place a tapas bar nor a formal restaurant. It could be better described as what we call in some parts of Spain "Casa de comidas", a place where you are served homemade meals in a casual environment. It offers simple meals, but nicely cooked (at least in my visits) in a... More

We stumbled across this restaurant which was full and lively, we were seated immediately in what appeared to be the only available table. The waiter was attentive and delivered our drinks in a timely manner. So far so good. I ordered chilli con carne, which to be kind, was bland and probably the worst that I have ever eaten, it... I agree with more recent posts. This is a very busy and ostensibly popular restaurant but I really do not think it deserves the adulation it has received in some reports. There are far too many tables crammed into a tiny space. Our waiter was speedy but we had to ask three times for mineral water which never came and... More
