Sensible, Good, Simple Food - Feels Authentic

Very simple settings if clean, and yes, Arroz a la cubana (white boiled rice with a fried egg) and bacalao con tomates (cod in batter with tomato sauce) turned out to be seasoned with the very same light tomato sauce, and overall similar once I chose rice as a side dish to the latter. Go for the gambas! Cheap and cheerful and a favourite with my friends who live locally. The gambas were to die for!

We went there our first evening in Barcelona, because the Norwegian handguide "Gatelangs" wrote about this place. Not worth it at all! I can't understand why restaurants as "Tosca", for example are not mentioned at all, but this one??? It was cheep, but try to avoid it!

My personal opinion: this little restaurant is definitely worth a try. The food is simple, but very-very delicious: you have to try their lamb! The service is very good and fast, the prices appeal to the eye and the purse, and it is very close to La Rambla.

Goid, simple food indeed - and in contrast to some reviews here, I found the service to be very good, fast and efficient.

Our family visited Barcelona last month. We have a nice dinner in this restaurant. The cooking is great and the waiter is also very polite to take care of our needs. The whole dinner gave us a great satisfaction. We definitely will visit this restaurant next time we come to Barcelona.

This place has been here for decades. It's always been where you go when you're running short of cash at the end of the month. It's had a facelift since the old days. I've been coming here since the '90s and its basic nature hasn't changed: good solid food at incredibly cheap prices. The hygiene is pretty good as well.... More

We went to romesco for five days in a raw. the restaurant is small and warm. The food was delicious and portions are big enough .. It is near las ramblas and very cheap, despites all the other restaurants there. The sir that work there is very kind and sweet !if we ever come to Barcelona definitely we will eat... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
