The best of everything, but here's the drill: there is no cooking. A must visit in Barcelona.

Great tapas bars are enshrined, like this one ,stacked with all sorts of fishy delights....mojama, smoked eel, smoked salmon, arenque faux caviar and bacalla. Next to them are rectangular plates packed with all sorts of delicious wonderments... foie gras, terrines, chestnuts, wee mushrooms... read more

Friendly staff in a truly authentic spot. It's standing room only. Lots of tapas dishes involve seafood. AND IT'S AMAZING FOOD!

It will be crowded and you have to be confident about what you are ordering. If you can't handle either you will not enjoy. We did the very un-Barcelona thing by arriving right as it opened and there was already a line waiting and the place was packed quickly. We enjoyed house beer and wine along with a few plates... Seriously do yourself a favor and get down to Quimet and Quimet. QUICK TIP: come with cash and show up early. We arrived 15 mins after opening and it was already packed. I can't even describe how amazing it is. The atmosphere is phenomenonal and the staff are so swiched on. Such a great experience. Just go, okay. Recommend 100%

Went twice in a 5-day stay. 2 things are guaranteed: 1. You will wait at least 20 mins before you can order 2. Once you eat here, you realize 20 mins is so worth it to eat here. The artichoke prawn with caviar is, just, great; the swordfish with chili is very good. Don't miss out on the q&q beer... More

Wow- this tapas is so good! The salmon with yogurt and truffle honey is the best thing I ate in Barcelona. We stood at the bar right next to one of the chefs and it was a fun experience to order our food directly from him! We were in and out in 30 minutes and it was awesome!

This little 'hole in the wall" so to speak was such a great little stop on our way out of Barcelona. The staff were wonderful and helpful, as long as you were quick and didn't waver too much. They're on the ball, considering how few staff work at once compared to the number of patrons. Needless to say the food... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
