Montadito Heaven!

We squeezed into the corner and ordered cold beer, the perfect foil for the savory snacks we were about to devour (and because we had been "wining" all week). My favorite montadito had artichoke, sardine and black olive tapenade. Wish we had time to visit again!

The consensus of these reviews is spot-on. A tiny space. No chairs, and only a handful of tiny counter space. And magic behind the bar, which appears almost before you've finished your sentence. Almost all the food is served cold or room temperature. And for an extra feature, order a bottle of wine, and watch how they go way up... More

This is a great place for some tapas. It's a bit hidden in a side street and not so big, there are no tables to sit, but the food is excellent. You pick something from their menu and they create it within minutes (or seconds depending on the crowd) right in front of your eyes. Everything we tested was extremely... More

It's hard to get a really good authentic Tapas experience in Barcelona with so much tourism but this place was simply amazing. Each item was great. The scallops, the foie, the patatas fritas, the mussels were all great. The owner is really personable and is a hit with his guests. Great mix of people. No chairs, small and standing room... More

This place has great food (except the mussles - they had a weird, crumbly texture). All tapas, order at the counter, try to find a spot to stand. We stopped here before dinner - I don't think there is enough to fill you up for dinner! Come early if you want a spot without a very long wait. It's a... More

Lovely deli. Tapas are amazing. Quick service. Got to try new dishes I hadn't before. Only downfall is the restriction of opening times. So when u do eventually get there it is crowded, but worth it. Will defo be back to try more x

Quimet & Quimet is one of those hidden gems you stumble across and makes your holiday. The food is unbelievable and varied. There is every type of wine and spirit you could wish for. It's small, so small you have to stand, but who cares when the food and atmosphere is this good and cheap! We spent the entire evening... More

Stumbled upon this amazing little bar on our trip to Barcelona and it really was amazing. No seating, you dine standing around small tall tables surrounded by hundreds of different wines. When you are ready to order you almost need to shout what you would like to the staff behind the counter to be heard. It's a great atmosphere and... More

We were staying in an Airbnb apartment directly opposite this popular, buzzing bar. It was busy every evening, so we decided it must be worth a visit! It was! It's the size of a sitting room, with a drinks' shelf on two sides, two small pedestal tables and standing room only. Not everyone's cup of tea, but cetainly ours. The... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
