Great Tapas Bar

Our travel guide book had recommended Quimet & Quimet and it was conveniently near the funicular, which we wanted to take up to Barcelona's castle. So we checked it out! Phenomenal!! Our travel guide book had recommended Quimet & Quimet and it was conveniently near the funicular, which we wanted to take up to Barcelona's castle. So we checked it out! Phenomenal!! This was simply amazing. Either arrive right at opening or be prepared to navigate the crowds. This place is a cute, standing room only tapas bar. I enjoyed their razor clams and other seafood -- which were absolutely stunning. Quimet y Quimet is simply amazing tapas done exquisitely right in a very understated location. This is a must-go place when... More

This meal - or should I say collection of tapas myself, my mom and brother sampled - was some of the most amazing. MOST flavorful, unique food I have ever enjoyed. I wish that we could have eaten there every day in Barcelona for lunch, but its a little out of the way. It actually took us a while to... More

Very good tapas, large selection to choose from and very casual environment. The only negative thing i could say is regarding the size of the place which got very crowded immediately. Therefore do not plan on being there for more than one hour

Just stand by the bar and enjoy what's coming at you! Quim Pérez will not disappoint you. The foie gras on crackers with volcanic black salt can be addicting. Make sure and try the montadito of smoked salmon with yogurt and truffled honey, with a glass of the excellent Yzaguirre Rojo Reserva! and don't forget to try their house cava.

I don't even know where to begin. What an experience. My taste buds were in heaven. After walking all over Barcelona, all I want to do is sit down at a restaurant and have dinner. Didn't happen here as there were no seats! Standing room only. What a crowd. Lines lined up on the streets. You have to finagle your... More

Great tapas but go there only if you want an authentic experience - this isn't the sort of place you go to for a night out and to relax. The food is completely worth it though, I would recommend the salmon with yoghurt and honey and the blue cheese and red pepper. The house red wine is excellent and the... More

Another gem in this part of Barcelona. There is a friendly, happy, busy vibe that single travellers and groups can enjoy. The food is outstanding as is the service. The wine complements the food nicely.

This must be one of the best tapas bars in Barcelona. We arrived about 12-30 p.m. and there was a real buzz as it was heaving with locals and discerning travellers. It is very small but we squeezed in and managed to stand at the counter (there are no seats) and watched our order and others being quickly but beautifully... More

Had it been just my husband and I, this would have got more than 5 stars. The food some of the best we had in Spain - delicious, inventive, fresh, mouth watering tapas. I'm marking it down because we came with our two kids under 12, which is on us, not on the restaurant. Just know what your going to... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
