Unfortunately the experience was not as pretty as the interior. Slow and dry service followed by bland and stodgy food! Good prices though and a nice atmosphere on a weekend.

The ambiance at la fonda is lovely, warm lighting, nice seating, classically elegant. And the food was good, not fabulous, but decent. We had an average green salad, cannelloni which was well made but had more sauce than flavor and the fish paella, which was very tasty. We had an excellent bottle of Cabernet for only 11 euros. Overall, a... More

The service in this restaurant has always been an issue. It is rarely good or even attentive. Most of the time the staff is desultory and missing. The food is okay and is certainly edible. The Carpaccio is very good and worth trying. Salads are also good. Entrees are varied and are mostly unmemorable. The biggest plus is the price.

Firstly, really enjoyed the atmosphere and venue of the restaurant. I had the duck confit for dinner but it was greasy and I got the impression it was the type of duck which is cooked in a tin of it's own fat but I could be wrong. My husband had the veal cheeks which he didn't think were particularly tender... More

We went there as a couple as strongly suggested by friends, but unfortunately it turned out it was overestimated! The appetizer tried to be a selection of tapas however of quite low quality and taste; main sea paella was good (eventhough quite poor and mainly pure rice); the second dishes (salmon and tuna) were almost tasteless! In a nutshell -... More

Had a 3 day holiday in Barcelona, went to a few different restaurants to taste the Spanish food. This was the only one we decided to go there twice. The fish paella and black rice were impressive comparing with the ones we had at other places. The desserts were also great. The restaurant itself has a very good atmosphere.

The Paella Valenciana was amazing here! The service is also amazing because it isn't Spaniards but immigrant workers who care about people and their treatment. I would come back again!

We had to wait outside a few minutes before sitting at a table. After getting inside, we were positively impressed by the nice atmosphere. Food wise, paella was very good and so were the mixed starters! Service is fast and staff is friendly. Good value for money (we paid 20 euros each for sangria, a big fish paella for two... More
