Well priced and good quality

La Fonda is located just off La Rambla in the gothic quarter. It is one of a chain of restaurants, with the group having x9 in Barcelona including the Grill Room next door. Very nice atmosphere and despite being very busy we were seated straight away. Service was good and food of a high standard... read more

Picked the place due to that it was crowded. Waitress took our orders quickly. We ordered starters and main course. Then nothing happened for a long time. When the food finally came it was the main course. We asked for the starters so they took the main courses out. After another 20min we got the starters. Then, when they came... More

La Fonda was fair. The food was serviceable but not delicious. I'm not really sure why people were lined up to get in given that the food was not remotely special in a city with so many great restaurants. There was very limited seafood in the paella and the squid ink pasta.

I have been to this restaurant so many times over the years going back as far as I can remember. It was always crowded especially at lunchtime and you had to queue outside as it was not possible to reserve a table. I wanted to invite 2 people for a meal so I decided this was the place. I arrived... More

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Gran Sofia hotel. Though we had to change trains (local metro) twice to get there, it was well worth it. It is located close to Las Ramblas near the water front along with a host of other restaurants. As suggested by the concierge we had made a advance reservation and were... More

My friend and I ate several meals at La Fonda restaurant in March, 2015. The restaurant is located about a block from La Rambla in the ancient part of Barcelona. The atmosphere is modern, well decorated and comfortable. It is extremely popular with tourists and locals, so it quickly fills up after the prime lunch and dinner hours begin, and... More

this a great place to eat in one of the side streets off La Ramblas. the starters and mains were cheap and mouth watering, one of the best restaurants we came across on our recent travels. you will not be disappointed.

Food was OK but service was mediocre - think the only reason people queue is because the price is very reasonable. I cant give a bad review, I would just probably not visit again and try somewhere better.

We tried thus restaurant on the first evening of our stay in Barcelona. Recommended by our concierge guy at the hotel. And I must say that it was quite good. fair prices, good service overall, except our waiter who was a bit in the hurry taking the order and not very friendly but looking at how busy they were he...
