We sat at the bar and the chefs and other employees were very friendly. We found the restaurant through Rick Steves' book, and we weren't disappointed. My daughter and husband shared octopus and really enjoyed it, I stuck with the vegetarian tapas. The chocolate cake was a great dessert. I took a picture of the chefs looking at Rick Steves'... More

The restaurant has a great Barcelona vibe to it.....friendly, fast and great service. The menu tapas range was excellent with so many exciting dishes. The fried fresh anchovies and the calamari were excellent. The roasted eggplant salad was excellent. All good.

We had read the review in Time Out and seen the queues to get a table, so we put our name down and waited an hour for a table - gosh the food was poor. The croquettes were cold and the tortilla was stodgy, tasteless and cold. I won't go on to describe the rest of the food - carb... More

There are too many great places in Barcelona that you shouldn’t waste a meal at this one. The food was just so-so and the waitress had a major league attitude. I think she must be the owner’s daughter and although she despises the thought of working - he makes her work anyway. Otherwise, she would have been fired a long... More

A group of us visited this rather smallish restaurant, located in the upscale Rambla de Catalunya in Barcelona. The locale is no nonsense, old-fashion, and harkens back to another period in time. With a menu focusing on mainstay tapas, sandwiches, drinks (mostly beers, soft drinks, and wine) La Bodegueta does not disappoint. The food is incredible, with freshly prepared items... More

Good food, nice service and a super atmosphere. Most visitors are locals, which is always nicer then tourists.

If you wanted to design a movie set for the Barcelona tapas restaurant, this would be a good place to start. Half a dozen steps leading down from a busy street, small tables with wooden stools, a discreet bar where white-shirted waiters quietly construct simple plates. An ancient wall refrigerator whose multiple doors hold all manner of surprises. Got that... More

Barcelona has almost 3 restaurants per block, so it is easy to get into a wrong one. This place has a nice setting on a pedestrian boulevard outside the actual restaurant, on a quiet street, but that is all. Food is average, prices are over average and service is fairly good and quick. Having over five thousand choices, I will... More

Went to this place after seeing Rick Steves recommendation, plus being suggested by Hotel Gallery staff. Very good paella; simple place which is down a few steps from the sidewalk, probably would have walked past it if we didn't have the street number. Since none of us spoke Spanish getting meal descriptions was a little tricky, but enjoyed it overall.... More
