Pit-stop

Stopped for a couple of beers and a couple of plates of tapas while waiting for entry into Casa Batlló. Good location. Outside seating area was perfect for people-watching.

We didn't like the touristy vibe in Cerveceria Catalana so went to La Bodegueta instead - this turned out to be an excellent move! Delicious Estrellas, perfectly poured and perfect tapas. We enjoyed the best Russian salad, patatas bravas and croquettes as well as excellent bocarones and tuna. Surly service from one particular waiter completed the experience perfectly! Would love... Found La Bodegueta after touring La Pedrara (a block away). Instantly loved the place. Great atmosphere, friendly service and a good value in a pricey area. We were the only tourists in there but felt at home and struck up a conversation with a local customer who had lived in NYC and visited Cleveland. We enjoyed our drinks & the... More

This place was recommended to us by the person at our guest house. I asked her what HER favorite was and not what the guide books say. There are tons of tapas places in this location including the famous Tapas 24 - and most are super fancy and quite pricey and this is the one she chose. She said that... More

To be honest, I hadn't planned to go here. A recommendation of another tapas restaurant ended up with hideous queues. So meandering around I stumbled across La Bodegueta. Placed on the corner of the street, you enter down traditionally steep steps into the main restaurant. You know a place is going to be good when it's bustling with both customers... More

This is a nice eatery just 5 minutes walk from Gaudi's La Pedrera (or Casa Mila), we went there for a weekday lunch after visited La Pedrera, not a tourist in sight but the restaurant was full of local residents and office workers. We noticed most of them are having a three course daily special (13 Euros including bread, water... More

We had a nice dinner at La Bodegueta last friday night. Despite being located in a poshy area of the city this restaurant has affordable prices and a wide range of typical spanish tapas. We had a 4 or 5 different tapas dishes and the outstanding one was definitively the croquetas de cocido.

This is a very nice unassuming local bar. You are made to feel welcome, the food is very good, the grog comes from small barrels on the wall behind the bar and once you have enjoyed the hospitality you would never go to one of the rip off tourist joints down the road.

Despite our age this was our first Tapas meal and it was really good. The difficulty is just knowing what to choose. We made our choice of about 5 dishes, but decided to order more after we’d had that. All dealt with by staff that are attentive and helpful. Completely full and satisfied. Wine and loads of food £51 for... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
