For that local experience

To be honest, I hadn't planned to go here. A recommendation of another tapas restaurant ended up with hideous queues. So meandering around I stumbled across La Bodegueta. This is a nice eatery just 5 minutes walk from Gaudi's La Pedrera (or Casa Mila), we went there for a weekday lunch after visited La Pedrera, not a tourist in sight but the restaurant was full of local residents and office workers. We noticed most of them are having a three course daily special (13 Euros including bread, water... More

We had a nice dinner at La Bodegueta last friday night. Despite being located in a poshy area of the city this restaurant has affordable prices and a wide range of typical spanish tapas. We had a 4 or 5 different tapas dishes and the outstanding one was definitively the croquetas de cocido.

This is a very nice unassuming local bar. You are made to feel welcome, the food is very good, the grog comes from small barrels on the wall behind the bar and once you have enjoyed the hospitality you would never go to one of the rip off tourist joints down the road.

Despite our age this was our first Tapas meal and it was really good. The difficulty is just knowing what to choose. We made our choice of about 5 dishes, but decided to order more after we’d had that. All dealt with by staff that are attentive and helpful. Completely full and satisfied. Wine and loads of food £51 for... More

Food was simple but authentically Spanish. It's located near the Passeg de Gracia (in fact, it's on a parallel street), not exactly the cheapest area in Barcelona. Place is relatively small and somewhat easy to miss (so look out for the street number!). Service efficient and professional. I had menu del dia and I wasn't disappointed. I recommend it if... More

We were a group of 10 staying in Barcelona. The tapas were really good and a great variety. The waiter kept bringing dishes such as calamari, smashed eggs (eggs and potatoes), plates of hams, cheeses etc. we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and all this including beers, wine and soft drinks for about €20 a head.

We walked onto the terrace with a party of seven, asked if it was okay to have a couple of drinks. Waiter said it was ok, but we could only sit at one table. No problem for us, but when we grabbed some chairs he got all red and stressed and screamed "ONLY ONE TABLE". We were only getting some... More

The place it's alike to be back in the time, I used to go there for many years. atmosphere it's made by old print and old barrels and wood tables. I had pulpo Gallegos and Seasoned Cheese and beer. It's nice however I feel it's too expensive, you can have a meal at restaurants with same money not just finger... More

I loved the food, the service. The tapas are really good. They have the best pan con tomate. You can eat inside or choose la terraza and enjoy the view at rambla de catalunya.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
