Lovely food in good price

We went there right after our long haul flight. Lovely lunch with lots of variety and staff there are friendly. Unbelievable price with good quality of food. Must try the fried green pepper and grilled fresh sardine.

Recommended in the lonely planet guide. After a walk along the beach and not finding anywhere to eat we decided to find this little bar. The food was amazing! Recommend the cod fritters and the patatas bravas were the best we have had! Really worth a visit if in the area. Just be prepared to wait for a table as... More

This was another recommendation by the W and while nothing fancy, it was very authentic and probably our best value. Our total bill was less than 40 euros for cava, sangria, several tapas (chorizo, fish bone cracker, catalan potatoes, steak dish & one other I cant recall). We grabbed an outside table to soak in the genuine street side ambience... More

Hard to find but worth it! Great tapas & Galacian white wine! Kind servers who worked with our lack of language skills. Highly recommended!

Locals, simple very good food. Tried their fried fishbone crisp special and loved every part of the meal. It was also relatively quiet in this part of Barcelonetta.

5 minutes at 7.30 pm and we got a table. 30 min later it was packed. Good overview of tapas and easy to choose delicious ones. 5 tapas, 1 l of good Sangria, espresso, dessert and whiskey at 50+ € is a bargain. The only downside were the toilets. We will return!

This tapas restaurant was recommended to us by the guide on one of our tours. We arrived on a busy Thursday night. We were given a table but had to wait a long time to order. We received two dishes but the third dish never arrived. When we asked about it we were told there was no chicken left but... More

Jai-ca is ultimately the best tapas bar in Barcelona. It was worth waiting for nearly an hour to get free table. Very tasty food and excellent wine for reasonable price. Also, great atmosphere and friendly personnel. I would highly recommend this tapas bar.

Staff was so kind, and the place is very cool. It's located into the 'Barceloneta', an attractive and pictoresque neighbourhood (next to the BCN beach and fishermen harbour). Verey good quality of the homemade typical 'tapas' and excellent beer and wines.

We came at prime time, and needed to wait about half an hour. They gave us the first available table outside. The food and beverages flowed and each dish was tasty. Two families who had not eaten all day and the waitstaff could not be more accommodating. Thanks to the previous reviewers. Great local hangout.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
