Local and authentic, super fast service!

Really enjoyed eating at this place. It's not conventionally touristy but the tapas menu is incredible and affordable. We ate some nice tapas (calamari, patat jaica, grilled prawns and greek salad), fair privé, medium to small, but staff mainly ignorered tourists.

A tight squeeze on a busy Saturday night means you will wait for a table but the sangria is so flowing, the staff so accommodating (these two may be related!) and the tapas so delicious that you let this pass you by and instead soak up the atmosphere. As authentic as tapas can be. Don't punish yourself by missing out... More

We were told about Jai-Ca from a few locals that we met the night before and they said that it was "the best". They were 100% correct. We sat at the bar and had great food and great service. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. We will return every time we come back to Barcelona.

We were recommanded to go to that place! After seeing the review, we did not hesitate to go. The food is good, but the quality was totally "destroy" by the REALLY POOR service. Waistress talk a little english, had to reconfirmed our order, serve us and basically spend the rest of the time having fun with colleague! Had to ask... More

When I want to find a good place to eat out while abroad I look for three things: Full off locals, Waiting staff speak very little English, nobody outside trying to drag you in, this ticks the boxes on all three. More of a cafe than restaurant, very light and lively inside and the tapas is great and reasonably priced.

Generally very busy, though there is a sister restaurant 2min walk down the street in case it's full. Excellent tapas and nice atmosphere.

We are here for dinner. It was busy, but we got a table. They had a menu in Catalan, Spanish, and English. We had tapas and they were good. The "buñuelos de bacalao" we're delightful. The service was quick and the staff was friendly.

Busy, noisy, very Spanish, wonderful tapas at a very reasonable price. We were the in early June at about 4 ish so found a table, just loved the place and the whole atmosphere. Wonderful food, cheerful service....many people dropping in for a drink and tapas on their way home. Loved it!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
