Warning # 1: All the customers spoke English, French, Russian. Not a word of Spanish or Catalan. Warning #2: The waiter dropped the bread basket on the table in a rush and left even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. (turns out we were charged for it even though we didn't eat it - nor asked for it) Warning #3:... More

An upmarket looking restaurant but very reasonably priced. The food is Spanish (no chicken & chips here) and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's just off the main road, we found it in the Lonely Planet guide and I'm very glad we did.

The location is elegant, well furnished and with a lovely jazz music in background. We had a Paella and it is totally amazing, a real traditional one. The prices are also reasonable considering the quality of the food: with a tapa, paella, dessert, coffee, water and wine 35€ each.

About to leave Barcelona, I wanted a good paella. A Spanish friend did recommend Elche and I was really pleased with my experience. Amuse bouche: a nice pâté with croutons (pleasant free detail) Starter: timbale of avocado, tomato, onion and fresh tuna (fresh, tasty) Main: paella marisco (seafood) was well served, the rice was really well cooked with proper seafood... I don't even know where to start. Food was late, it was cold, paella was average, service sucked biiiiig time.. We were €15 over charged for something we haven't had, it was a big deal to explain as our waiter couldn't remember what we had and what we didn't have.. I will say it again, a horrific experience.. DO NOT... More

We had to leave this place after 15 minutes. Our waiter was incredibly rude. He did not see us to our table he just pointed out in the blue and walked away. When we asked just to make sure we were not taking someone elses table he made a face and sighed loudly. After this he anwsered our questions about... More

Found this place after googling for best Paella in Barcelona and this place was an amazing experience. We had the fried artichoke for starters, they were good but not impressive, however, the main course was the true highlight. We had the black rice Paella, which comes with added garlic to the side and is an amazing addition to a beautiful... More

recomended by the hotel staff, close from the hotel we where staying, the food, wine and service was excellent. We went 3 different times, to try first the famous black rice, next time we try the Paella and the last one the rice with costra (only restaurant they prepare this dish). the 3 of them were VERY GOOD, plus the... The last night in Barcelona, after many fantastic meals, this was the highlight. From reading other reviews it may be a bit hit and miss but not for my wife and myself. We agree it tops our list on the best meal ever. Unfortunately every paella comes up short now. Give it ago.

Went with my girlfriend, we were the first to dine at 1920. We had a lovely entree (fried artichoke hearts and Catalan tomato bread) and then the seafood paella. Best we've ever had. Delicious. Wine was excellent, service attentive without interrupting, nice decor and an excellent drinks menu. Highly recommended!
