Restaurant Casa Calvet is located in Casa Calvet, a building created for a textile manufacturer by the Catalan Architectural genius Antoni Gaudi. Its accounting offices, management and boardrooms have been converted into semi-private dining rooms where we have preserved taste and elegance to the delight of our customers. Restaurant Casa Calvet is a unique and exclusive place where dining becomes a sensual experience which blends the state of the art cuisine with the beauty of Gaudi's work.

Nice dinner; not quite excellent.

However, we had better in Barcelona and Casa Calvet would not rise to excellent, in my opinion. Husband chose a take on capresi salad with layers of eggplant and mozarella for his... read more

A wonderful respite from the repetitive Spanish restaurants. The food is great, the wait staff charming, ambience is unbeatable. Make reservations!!!!!!! A Gaudi building which is quite beautiful. Ask to see the lobby of building.

We had lunch at Casa Calvet. They offer a "Market Menu" for 34 EUROS. The meal was fine but not special. The venue is lovely and I personally liked the fact I could eat in this historical Gaudi building. Service was professional not friendly.

My husband and I ate here on our last night on Barcelona and couldn't have been more pleased. It was a wonderful way to finish an evening that had been spent touring La Pedrera and Casa Batllo from which it is a short walk. The location is iconic with a charming atmosphere and the service we received was exceptional. We... More

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is excellent and the location, in a Gaudi-designed building, is unique. The only reservation we have is that the service was a bit slow and not as friendly as almost every other place we went in Barcelona.

Very nice environment with excellent service and good food. Nice to have separate rooms/spaces to sit with small groups.

Yes, the physical venue has character; but, at least on the night we dined there, the service and food preparation of Casa Calvet were lacking. If one uses pricing as an index to quality (often a big mistake), this restaurant fails to meet those expensive expectations. I love scallops; but the ones I was served at Casa Calvet were less... This is once experience not to be missed when in Barcelona. Aside from the fact that you are dining inside a Goudi creation, albeit one of his more "modest" ones, the atmosphere almost seems to infuse you as you relax in an elegant decor. The service was impeccable while being extremely friendly and attentive, wine choices were quite good, the... More

I really don't get the great reviews. The building reminds me of a subway station. I did feel I was in the thirties with music from the early 1900s. Slow service. Very average food food and very expensive. Staff had an attitude. Just weird. Would not recommend. On the way back to our hotel a block from this place which... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
