Great food, strange service

We went to Can Majo twice for lunch and both times we were extremely satisfied with the food. Seafood here is extremely fresh! Our favourite was the grilled scallop - just divine. Seafood paella was pretty awesome too. They have a pretty good menu for desserts, with quite a lot of variety. We had... read more

Found this restaurant in the Lonely Planet Discover Barcelona guide and decided to try it on our last night in Barcelona, and we are really glad we did as we had a fabulous dinner. We did not book, but turned up on the door as they were opening for evening service. They only managed to fit us in because we... More

I went to this restaurant last week and quoting my young kids' words "Its the best seafood ever!". We ordered seafood platter with lobster. It was delicious and fresh. We also had seafood paella. It was also delicious but we couldnt finish it after eating too much of the seafood platter😄. The bread n olives offered by the waiter was also... More

We had the paella with peeled shellfish. It was extremely well cooked, it tasted fresh all be it on the expensive side. But the portion size was good. We were given olives (which were really tasty) and tomato bread on the table, which we were charged for. I felt is was slightly sneaky, it wasn't overly expensive for them but... More

Food was lovely. Gazpacho was light and fresh. Seafood paella was very tasty, rice not over cooked. Prawns tasted like they jumped right out of the sea. Service was as always in Barcelona, scarce and distant. 4 out of 5 because of this.

Great food... Starters were delicious, main of Casserole of Monkfish and Shellfish (Suquet) was brilliant! Ravioli with clams was awesome for starter. Careful though, our Crayfish were actually Langoustines and there were only three for 30 Euros! Ouch at best! Order well and it's great though.. Lovely location!

The food and service were tasty, but frankly didn't blow my mind. That said, it was still a wonderful experience and I would say "GO" because the setting outside is lovely and the paella more than respectable.

When you are in Barcelona, DO NOT miss this restaurant. We ordered 3 different dishes to share and each one was fantastic. The seafood paella and the lobster paella was out of this world. When you are finished you are one block from the beach.

This popular Barceloneta restaurant is a must visit for paella and for the freshest seafood. My wife and I ate here twice during our recent trip to Barcelona and each time we were delighted by the outstanding food and service and excellent wine list at this seaside restaurant. We came for the great paella and we stayed for the razor... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
