Good food with a nice view

We - 2 adults and 2 kids - went to have dinner here during our stay in Barcelona in June 2015. We walked in the Barceloneta neighborhood enjoying the pleasant weather, the people and the bars on the beach. Finally we discovered Can Majo just cross the street in front of the beach. Really nice... read more

The TripAdvisor community was right. This is a great place to enjoy paella in La Barceloneta, the waterfront district. Book ahead and get a table under the tent along the beachfront (la terrazza) instead of dining indoors. You'll enjoy the ambiance of the seafront with all the happy people who have been enjoying the sunshine and beach. The paella is... More

We weren't organized enough to have a reservation so we arrived right at 8. We were seated immediately and treated well. We ordered vegetable and seafood paellas and couldn't finish it all. The seafood paella was overflowing with meat and had a wonderful seafood flavor throughout. We started with gazpacho and it was the best we've had so far. Tables... More

Can Majo has been a favorite of ours for years, with its prime terrace location, traditional seafood and fish menu, and professional service. But - our visit last week was disappointing: the waitress did not know enough about the courses to help us choose, and the lobster rice (paella) was a bit on the dry side. To top it off... More

We stayed at the 5-star hotel Miramar and asked the hotel reception to recommend a good fish restaurant in Barcelona. They recommended the Can Majó. It was a great choice. The food is fantastic and the service first class. Everything we ate was delicious. I highly recommend it.

I wanted to eat seafood Paella while in Barcelona and this restaurant was recommended to me by another person and I was VERY happy that I went and tried it out. The owner is very friendly and accommodating (their Paella is for two but as I was travelling alone, he had the kitchen do a single person size) and the... More

A little far from the city centre, a little pricey, a little lacking in service, but very good food. We had oysters and clams which were fresh and well served, it was also our first try in Fideuà and it was perfect. Simply our best meal in our 2 week vacation in Spain.

Recommended by our caste experience tour guide, wander over around 7:30 for dinner. They were closed until 8PM, we were the first to arrive but they were hesitant to seat us since we didn't have a reservation (on a Tuesday night). They allowed us to sit if we would leave by 9:30 which was funny since we've learned the Spanish/Catalonians... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
