We tried another night to find the restaurant and gave up. On our walk back to the hotel we found this restaurant. The next night was New Years Eve so we went back to see if we could get dinner. They only had room at the bar and they had a fix price menu which was fine with us. There... More

Adorable little restaurant recommended by Lonely Planet in the Gothic neighborhood right next to the Mercer Hotel. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Very small, cozy and filled with mostly locals but some tourists. Entrees were not really my taste (I lean toward vegetarianism) and consisted of items like lamb, liver, duck etc. I had a fabulous salad and some wonderful... More

We have been 3 or 4 times and it's always excellent. The place is tiny and seating is tight but the "vibe" is wonderful. The menu does not seem to change much but it is extensive and everything we have ever had is brilliant with one exception; the cod with tomato sauce was a real disappointment. Otherwise, all the starters... More

Cosy place where you can have a lunch menu at 14,30 €, 3 course meal. The cheese soup was delicious, and the tarte-tatin tasted very good. Situated on a nice square.

It took a while to locate this little gem, tucked away in the Placa St Just, but it was certainly worth the search. A small but varied menu, great ambiance and very reasonable prices. Dinner for 2, with wine, starter and desert for 60 euros. Pretty decent. Go, but call for reservations.

At first we were disappointed when we were being taken upstairs (away from the "action" in the dining area) to be seated in a quiet, private room. But with a group of 8, it worked out great. It wasn’t noisy and it was a very nice dining area. Service was good and we all enjoyed the meal and experience. Nice... More

Concierge at Hotel Mercer up the street recommended this to us, and it was better than average and slightly unique preparation. Slightly better service than the typico Catalan ignoring service. Few tables, old building, small Catalan menu. Best in neighborhood, best for all parts of meal to be good, apps, starter, and main course. Worth the higher price. Make a... More

After much deliberation we decided to try our luck at Cafe De L'Academia. This gem is hidden in the narrow back passages that direct the gothic quarter, but was still easy enough to find. We hadn't booked and the place was bustling, yet were kindly offered a seat at the bar. The food was devine, the ambience warm and the... More

This is a special little place in Barcelona. Off the beaten path and somewhat hard to find....but well worth it from so many perspectives. Atmosphere is great, service superb and food and wine....the best. I highly recommend this restaurant.
