It took a while to locate this little gem, tucked away in the Placa St Just, but it was certainly worth the search. A small but varied menu, great ambiance and very reasonable prices. Dinner for 2, with wine, starter and desert for 60 euros. Pretty decent. Go, but call for reservations.

At first we were disappointed when we were being taken upstairs (away from the "action" in the dining area) to be seated in a quiet, private room. But with a group of 8, it worked out great. It wasn’t noisy and it was a very nice dining area. Service was good and we all enjoyed the meal and experience. Nice... More

Concierge at Hotel Mercer up the street recommended this to us, and it was better than average and slightly unique preparation. Slightly better service than the typico Catalan ignoring service. Few tables, old building, small Catalan menu. Best in neighborhood, best for all parts of meal to be good, apps, starter, and main course. Worth the higher price. Make a... More

After much deliberation we decided to try our luck at Cafe De L'Academia. This gem is hidden in the narrow back passages that direct the gothic quarter, but was still easy enough to find. We hadn't booked and the place was bustling, yet were kindly offered a seat at the bar. The food was devine, the ambience warm and the... More

This is a special little place in Barcelona. Off the beaten path and somewhat hard to find....but well worth it from so many perspectives. Atmosphere is great, service superb and food and wine....the best. I highly recommend this restaurant.

There's a pile of good restaurants in this town, but there's a simplicity to this place among all the culinary glitz that really makes it a pleasure. The place is cosy, muted but full of character and charm. The menu is fairly solidly Catalan with nods to Spanish and French cuisine and some nice fusion twists here and there. The... More

Loved the location of this restaurant in the Barri Gotic area which was within walking distance of our hotel at Port Vell. It is recommended in the D&K guide books and had good reviews on Trip Advisor. We managed to arrange a telephone booking about four hours before we went and I think we were lucky to get in. We... Didn't make a reservation when I dropped by on a mid week evening, but it was pretty busy. A cosy atmosphere and intimate setting. Drinks: range of wine selection but limited spirits Food: delicious and well presentented, we trid the steak and rack of lambs - would have preferred some more sides, but otherwise very good. Homemade desserts looked amazing.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and is well worth a visit. The menu is available in English and Spanish and the staff great at translating the specials. I had monkfish with asparragus and a sauce, it was perfectly cooked and a good portion. They do half portions of most dishes which is nice, particularly desserts, the lemon and... More

This restaurant makes you discover Spanish food beyond the traditional and overly touristy tapas. At lunch for little more than 14€ you get a 3 course meal to die for. Will come back for sure.
