This is one place I shall always seek out when I am back in BCN. Thank goodness, for the last 3 occasions we were in this City, we were staying just a few doors away from Cafe De L'Academia :) Reservation is a must as it fills up very quickly. Never any grievance about its service as even in the... More

We had a delightful meal at Cafe De L'Academia. We were able to get a table outside which was so pleasant. The tagliatelli with shrimp was excellent. It is situated in a square and there was a singer who entertained there.

Found using TA and were very pleased with this difficult to locate (part of the fun of the gothic quarter) gem of a restaurant. English was good but not great but plenty attentive. Food was very solid all around. Pasta with garlic and prawns was my favorite dish. We skipped dessert and went to manna getats (#1 for a reason)... More

I guess we saved the best for last. This was our (my wife's and mine) 5th and last dinner in Barcelona. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for something special. We were seated outside in a beautiful quaint square. The entire duration of our meal there were buskers playing romantic Spanish music, which enhanced the ambiance... More

I have to say that finding that small place made us really happy. They truly made the best risotto we have ever had (we had the risotto with duck liver and grapes) and also the shefs recommendations for the day (goat cheese and artichoke salad and fish (rape- in spanish) with sparagus was just perfect. We also enjoyed the desserts... More

Good ambiance but cod was little too fishy and eggplant had neutral and not strong enough favor. Nice place to drink wine while waiting for food though.

Although a little tricky to find - until the shutters go up and the tables are laid - it is well worth hunting out this little gem of a restaurant. Situated in a small square in the depths of the Gothic quarter, the menu concentrates on local dishes and it is so difficult to choose from the delights on offer.... More

We had an amazing dinner at Academia, which came highly recommended by a discerning and well-traveled pal. We've eaten at some really amazing places in NYC, and were both blown away. We had to make reservations for 8pm on a Friday night-- which is basically a late lunch by Barcelona standards-- and I was nervous when we arrived and it... More

Many of our tour guides and a local friend all recommended this small restaurant, and they were absolutely spot on. The three of us enjoyed salmon, shrimp, and a leg of lamb, with bouillabaisse and salad, and of course cava and dessert. Everything was delicious, and the restaurant was beautiful. Wait staff were busy, but okay. Did wonder if the... More

Went to this place based on Trip Advisor reviews. Made a reservation and requested outside seating. It was in a pretty little plaza and we even had someone playing a guitar and singing. Food and wine were delicious. Service was good. Such a nice atmosphere. We couldn't decide on dessert because they had so many things so we ordered the... More
