Hit the spot.....

My wife & I were grazing the boqueria, happened upon Cochinillo Loco and saw the interesting platters being served. We decided to take a chance and ordered the least expensive 39 Euro mixed-plate since it contained our favorite delicacy, razor clams. When the dish arrived at the table we were both... read more

Greasy ... Not a good seafood restaurant!! Questionable freshness and taste. Sangria acceptable. They say it's grilled I think is fried

Never again. We went there as we had seen people having those huge platters of gorgeous looking seafood. It looked beautiful, shame that the taste was completely opposite. We had the €39 (the cheapest) platter. The razor clams were chewy and full of sand, muscles still had mustache, calamari was like rubber and fish was over cooked and dry, customer... More

We were walking through the market when we spotted the plates of food being served here and it was a really wow factor on a plate. We had the 55 euro grilled seafood platter for 2 and could not believe the quantity and quality of the fish and seafood. Lobster, prawns, salmon, clams, sole, mussels and loads of others all... There might be a line to wait for thirty minutes, but it's all worth it. After getting the seafood platter of mixed seafood delicacies in front of you, you are in heaven. It's very relaxed and busy small place, but food is definately fresh and you can feel the market ambiance around you.

Lovely atmosphere, tables set out in the busy market area. We had the seafood platter which was delicious and great value for money, with a superb large glass of sangria. You need to queue for a table, it was busy with lots of different nationalities, we waited around 30 mins for a table of 5, but it gave you chance to... We had dinner at El cochinillo loco at La Boqueria in Barcelona twice. The first time was fantastic, the second time atrocious. There was a bit of a wait the first time but it was well worth it. A massive plate of prawns, clams, razor clams, fish, calamari, octopus for 74 euros for the four of us had us licking... More

Might take a while to have a table become available, but will worth the wait if your love SEAFOOD. The grilled seafood platter for 2 or 3 people is enough to feed three to five people. Right in the heart of the market, which is well worth the trip to visit!

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
