A great place for coffee and fresh bakery

Half a block from Urgell metro stop, this coffee shop is a great place to stop for fresh coffee, cake, or baguette. Nice people and not expensive at all. Try it, you will not be disappointed. :)

We discovered this place by chance and are glad we did! A bakery at one end, a very small cafe the other. be prepared to try out your best Spanish in the same way the staff try their best at English and you'll end up with a yummy breakfast/snack/lunch at a great price and you'll get to watch a slice... We had breakfast here for the last 2 days. Ideal location very close to the metro station, which makes it a perfect start for a day of visiting Barcelona's highlights. Fresh, crispy sandwiches, nice coffee and at an amazing price level. Don't bother shopping for breakfast, just come here.

We passed this place every day on our way to the city center. It's close to hotel Praktik Vinoteca, which doesn't include standard breakfast. It's a nice busy bakery with a huge choice of fresh bread and pastery. Cheap but perfect breakfast options, friendly staff.

Granier is by far the worse bakery chain in Spain. They are conveniently located in tourist area at the corner of most metro station entrances. You might not notice their rude comments if you don't speak spanish which I experienced several times as they assumed I was non-spanish speaker. They bake at night and maybe this is stressful but this... More

Granier is a big chain of bakeries(mainly in Spain). I visited a few in a different cities and every time I was satisfied :) It's cheep, tasty, service is helpful and it's open from early morning till late. Can't wait to have a delightful baguette and something sweet with coffee on my next trip! Locals love it-it's always plenty of... More

We stopped here a couple of time, staying at the hotel next door, for snacks, cakes and drinks! The food etc was of a high quality and low price, but the staff were wonderful! Neither of our Spanish is great but they were very patient and we never felt rushed or patronised, and even managed to have a bit of... More

Lovely coffee, pastries and if you want something savoury, filled rolls, baguettes and hot pasty type pastries. Far cheaper and better than a hotel breakfast!

We ate here every morning for a week, but there is a great selection of breads, confectionary, sandwiches and savory snacks. Super cheap and tasty.

We called here every morning for breakfast and had pastries and drinks. It is great value. I also like to have English tea in a morning, and although there was a bit of difficulty language wise, we got there in the end. Everything on the counter looks good and I would have tried it all if I had time. It... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
