They have lots of different homemade empenadas you will want to try! Their patatas con quatro quesos is delicious and their version of the patatas bravas is exquisite (their "patatas" are baked, not fried). Desert is ok, but not exceptionnal. They play jazzy loung music and the decor is really cool. It's a no brainer. And the service was impeccable... More

Just love this little place! The decor is warm and unique, the service is wonderful (very important and not always easy to find in Barcelona) and the food is amazing. It's so nice to find a good salad - full of fruit and whatever is in season at the time. I definitely recommend this charming little restaurant.

So many flavorful options for empañadas- vegetarian and vegan (in addition to meat) Great Potatas Bravas!! And then yummy Cortados. So, 6 empañadas, potatoes and 2 coffees for about €23. Get a snack or a full meal (we were really hungry!) Carolina was very sweet and helpful. There are a couple of outside tables. Go here and you will not... More

If you are looking for delicious empanadas and all true flavors of Spain, you must go to aQistoi!!! My fiancé and I had just arrived to Barcelona in the Girona area, and wanted to have traditional Spanish food. We came upon aQustoi and smelled the delicious food from the outside. The employees were so friendly and tended to us immediately.... More

The food here is fairly average. Had their empanadas and it was adequate. Not bad but not great. Their salad is interesting. Very large serving which is enough for 2, and has fruit, veg, potato chips, and tuna. Also had a ham & potato dish which was OK. Potatoes are little undercooked. Also had their cheesecake, and it was rather... More

aQistoi is a pleasant surprise, it might not look like much from the street, but it's all the better when you enter inside. The interior and decoration is kind of quirky, an eclectic mix of (what looks like) second hand furniture and retro lighting and details. But it's all done with a lot of taste, and makes you feel right... More

This was one of the best meals we had in Barcelona...or Europe for that matter. The empanadas and homemade pies are not to be missed. We took a cab from Barri Gotic, as we were not all that familiar with Eixample and then we walked back. I can't express this enough- GO EAT HERE! Really friendly service and every dish... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
