The upstairs of Rias de Galicia becomes a "sea" of little dishes, more casual, more fun, more imaginative, and more economical. A modern setting, with a kitchen bar where chefs prepare many dishes in front of customers. Two Rías in one. The menu has two parts. The main one based on elaborations without fire, is an anthem to the "product". And a second one where we discover the fire.

Let me start off by saying you should make a reservation if you plan on going here, or get lucky. We enjoyed this restaurant so much. Sure, plan to spend an extra dime but it's well worth it. The service, the way of serving the food, the tastes, it's all top notch. From the lobster, to the spicy oyster to... More

I have visited the "Rias de Galicia" on several ocasions before, one of the finest seafood restaurants in Barcelona and one of the more traditional ones. I was very much surprised when drinving to Kru, I was uschered into the same premises, just the upper floor. Something was wrong but the experience was really marvellous. From the most typical and... I read about this restaurant in Food and Wine Magazine as well as Gourmet so I figured the top 2 publications in the food industry can't be wrong. The fish was simply out of this world. I started with a Scallop crudo with sea urchin roe and it was awesome. Then I had a piece of Turbot that was the... More

I am Asian. Had my share of raw fishes in and around Japan and didn't think I will be enthused by sashimi and japanese influenced meals outside Asia. I was wrong. Meal at Espai Kru was very surprisingly spectacular. Service was decent. Going to book Pakta. Never expected food of this quality. Surpassed my expectations in every dish.

I love Espai Kru, it is simply fantastic. I consider it one of the best food and specially fish experiences you can have in BCN at a very reasonable price given the quality of the goods served. I have been here 4 times and I will, of course, keep coming.

We were a little suspicious with the "Kru experience" but it was fantastic. In my opinion better the second courses than the first or appetizers. The fried fish was just delicious!!! We accepted suggestions and everything was great but the Steak Tartar. Don't miss the tomato tartar!!! the Toro is also a Must!!

Espai Kru is a design restaurant near Plaza España. High quality fresh fish, lovely wagyu and delicious desserts are available. Good service too. Enjoy the experience.

We went to Espai Kru a bit blindly on a recommendation so we didn´t really know what to expect. We all ended up agreeing this was one of the best meals we had ever had. We asked the server to please just bring us her favorite dishes and they did not disappoint. The wines she recommended were amazing also. The... More

It seems a lot of good restaurants in BCN are closed on Sunday and Monday. Epsai Kru happens to be just opposite to my hotel stay, I walked passed it in the afternoon and was impressed by the seafood I saw at the window. So I made a reservation at the door, which later I found out most of the... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
