An excellent meal in an attractive traditional restaurant. Friendly and efficient service. My wife had an octopus starter but I had half a dozen oysters. They were first class. We both followed with grilled sole. Beautifully cooked and served. A good Catalina desert and complimentary liqueur completed the meal. A lovely evening.

Despite the attentive service and the cheerful interiors, I could not help feel somewhat disappointed by the experience. And the problem for me was the food. When you decide to call your restaurant La Lubina, the guest has the right to expect a first class sea bass. And this is not the case. Clearly of farmed origin (not a problem),... More

Dear Explorador, Thank you for your review and the time spent writing it. Sorry if the bass was not to your liking, obviously if it's a big seabass it needs more cooking time and maybe we got a little raw by a mistake in these. In any case, please let us know and we will cook it enought to made... More

La Lubina looks unassuming from the outside, but enter, and you'll find one of the gems of Barcelona. We arrived without reservations and found ourselves welcomed with open arms by the staff here. Crisp white linens, sparkling cutlery and glassware, and smiling wait-staff made this a special experience, but the food... oh, the food! Despite the fact that we had... More

I have to say that I have been in BCN a lot of times but never heard of this fantastic place. Before my trip, I googled for some new options to try with my family and I found La Lubina. The restaurant is exactly what I like; rather small place, with cozy atmosphere, very good service and superb food. La... More

We wanted to try a good seafood restaurant and after reading numerous reviews, we decided to try La Lubina. It was great. Kristina was our waitress and she is excellent. The tuna and sea bass were perfect. Great place.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this neighborhood resturant while walking the streets looking for a restaurant open on a Sunday afternoon. We sat indoors, however they do have street-side seating as well. We started with manchango cheese and friend anchovies, the anchovies had a light batter and a crisp outside with the saltiness of the anchovies inside. Our waitress,... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
