This was a lovely find on a rainy night out in Barcelona

This restaurant saved the evening. We got caught out in a heavy rain storm in Barcelona last November 2014. We were soaked through and desperate for some home comforts and friendly atmosphere. We stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant and boy were we glad we did. The lady serving us was... read more

Living in sevilla, I hold tapas to a high standard. Tonka met it easily. Reasonable prices, and good service. I recommend.

Nice small restaurant. Food size a bit on the small size, nice presentation- and tastes really good. Slightly pricey but quality was worth it. Would definitely eat there again.

Started with a salad with blue cheese and figs. Then the sardines which were wonderful. Still hungry we shared the tempura of eggplant and artichokes. Service was slow as there is one waitress doing her best.

Our first tapas experience in Barecelona and it was excellent. The food came out staggered which was great and we left with full bellies and a smile. Took dessert away. A more varied children's menu would have been good.

I walked past this restaurant having never noticed it before and went in to eat the following day with my sister. We were very impressed. The produce is all local. The food was presented very well and tasted great. We were sat outside with our dog and the waitress checked that we were warm enough all the way through the... More

My boyfriend and I ate dinner here on our first night out in Barcelona. We shared: samosas with a fillig of brie and walnuts (our fave!), olives, croquettes, asian salad (very fresh and delish), shrimp spring rolls and then home made carrot cake for dessert... Mmmm.. Definitely go if you can! Very reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes... More

Very bad service, not worth it - very hip though. At 3pm the brunch buffet was already empty and they didn't bother to refill it

Booked online. Got there and they seemed surprised to see us. It was very quiet but sat down outside briefly. Nothing really took our fancy on the menu and they'd seemed confused that we'd arrived so we didn't think they'd mind us leaving before ordering. Arrived back at our hotel to this email: "we are sorry that for some reason... More

Went here Sunday night (October 26) around 9:30pm. It was quiet with only 2 other couples there. Wasn't sure if they were still going as Sunday nights can be quiet in this area. No problem at all, the waitress welcomed us in and spoke English too. To drink we ordered house Vermut, my new favourite, and the waitress was happy... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
