Worth a visit

Again recommended by the hotel. I wanted to take my adult children to a restaurant that was a bit more interesting than the standard tapas fare. We were not disappointed the decor and the atmosphere were great. The staff were attentive and we had a very good waiter. We shared cod croquettes for... read more

I ate early. Eight PM is before the dinner rush. Every morsel was wonderful. The oysters were so fresh. The squid ink pasta with seafood was divine. Again, so fresh and perfectly cooked with a delicate sauce and a larger portion and variety of seafood than I saw anywhere in Barcelona. My Chardonnay, by the glass, was a good pairing.... More

We had heard a lot about this place and were very disappointed! Although the food was okay the staff is absolutely terrible! They are very rude and stuck-up. I think it has been by far one of the worst experiences I have had, especially in such a nice restaurant! We ended up cutting our dinner short and going for Tapas... More

if you fill a beautiful building with loads of beauiful furnitures and colors you have a good start, but if you dont add intersting guests and only turists looking for designed diningrooms, and not for the real thing, you need more than nice surroundings to make it a place to be, and the food is only average, the hot crowd... We told the waitress my wife could not have tomato. She ordered the Old Lettuces salad, and it was full of tomatoes (no mention of the tomatoes on the menu). I ordered the Ox steak. The accompanying sauce was not served until after I had finished the steak. My wife ordered Soupy Rice with Big Prawns and Clams. Well, the... More

Where do I start? In terms of the surroundings, they arguably couldn't be better - very stylish and photogenic if nothing else. The menu, while largely fish based, was pretty extensive: I started with the summer truffles with provolone cheese, which when served warm, was good - however, due to the rather large portion for a starter it cooled quickly... Very good food and service. Expensive though. We had a dorado and it was excellent. Kids ate tomato salad and chips and fish, pretty good, but expensive.

A friend from Portugal recommended this place. Its well located and the restaurant looks nice, but I was a little disappointed with the food and service. Waiter was nice but a little confused and seemed always in a hurry. My crab rice was overcooked and not very nice. Entrees and desert were good. The restaurant is very well decorated and... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
