Poor service, we were the only people inside the establishment I the early evening but were quickly forgotten about. One of our mains was left forgotten on the side of the kitchen after the chef rang for service. Price was not to be sniffed at though which really saves the place with a 3 course set menu for €15.

We came because we needed a change of pace. It was a quiet Sunday evening and not more then ten tables in the establishment. We got seated immediately but sat almost 15 minutes before getting a menus. My husband was ready to leave when it took another 15 minutes to order. The menu had some fondues, some were for two... We ordered the tomato bread, beers and chicken burgers. The beer atlas only had half available. The bread came out after burgers and the waiter didn't seem to think this was an issue, he said we should have stated we wanted bread as a starter, and shrugged his shoulders. They still charged us for the bread so I'm afraid that... More

I ordered a van Eyck salad. Salad, with tuna, and nuts. I was not wild about the taste, as it tasted cheesy, but I could not find the cheese. Ten minutes after leaving the restaurant I developed an acute toxic reaction with hot flushes, and abdominal pains. One hour later I developed severe diarrhoea. The hotel doctor diagnosed this as... We had drinks and a tapas selection. Friendly waiter. Food was not top notch but was tasty enough. Well worth a visit if you are nearby.

Visited with friends and had the special set menu for 15.25 euro's. There was a small but varied choice but the food was plentiful and very tasty. I had the chicken salad to start and it was large enough to be served as a main. My main was mushroom risotto that was very tasty indeed. To finish the tiramisu appeared... More

Good for lunch or snack. Loved the toast and the duck salad with foe gras. I love foe gras and cheese so this was an easy bet ... I will probably go there again if I have the chance. Not expensive and nice to sit outside.

I had a friend in town and wanted to go for a chill lunch on Enrique Granados (a pleasant pedestrian street full of restaurants) and we had wanted to go to Lunch & Cake which does great brunch. However there were full - as it turns out this was great for us as we discovered Cheese's Art. I struggled over... More

Great neighborhood restaurant with generous portions. Cheese fondue for one was more that enough for 2 to share. 3 course price fixed dinner was less than 15 euros. First course goat cheese salad was delicious enough for 2 to share. Risotto special of the day was really good with fresh mushrooms.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
