Stumbled upon this

We were out walking at night and found ourselves a bit lost. We came upon Josephine's and went in for a couple of tapas. The place is lovely and inviting, and the staff was so helpful! Came across this restaurant and from the outside it looked lovely and inviting. We asked for a table for 2. We were then seated right next to the door even though half the restaurant was empty...meaning we got a cold breeze every time someone walked passed the automatic doors.Waiting staff were rude and it felt like they did not want... The bistro is nicely decorated, cozy and charming. The food was very good but expensive, and the staff serving us was average and pretty slow though (they seemed overwhelmed, even if we got there early and it was not even half-full). Would recommend it if you're around the area and can book online to receive a discount, but wouldn't pay... More

I knever thought that someone that works in the hospitality industry could be so rude with her clients. Manners and respect is the most important thing and doesnt cost any money .... but some people prefer to accuse their customers of not booking a table properly than to try to solve the problem. We all know and understand that sometimes... More

Turned up at 9.30pm looking for a table on the off chance to be greeted by a very rude employee looking down her nose at us and telling us that we could not eat there, she didn't say that they were full anyway their loss our gain as we ate at a much better and friendlier tapas bar 2 minutes... Last December we visited Joséphine and was really a bad choice: it took more than 30 min. to get the main dish, cooking was different than ordered and had to wait 15 more minutes to get it fixed, had to ask for everything more than twice... And no compensation on the bill. Later a friend of mine told me they... More

Although I read some mixed reviews on Tripadvisor on this restaurant, we decided to go there anyway because it was closeby and it looked nice and positively buzzing with people. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. Our waitress was very hardworking and kept smiling throughout, but she only had 1 colleague and the two of them could not possibly handle the... More

This review is all about one drink - Sangria. Authentic, catalan Sangria. We watched mesmerized as the barman made this amazing version from scratch. With 9 ingredients in the mix - this was, by far, the best ever Sangria. I have ever enjoyed. We stayed at the adjacent Claris hotel and closed each evening with this ceremonial drink at Josephine.... More

We were staying across the street at The Claris and ran in here for lunch. Place was very busy and service/food were very good. We had the prefix 3 course lunch for 14.95 euro, had choice of soup or pasta, a fish or pork entree and a dessert. Drinks were very reasonably priced as well. Place is small inside but... More

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
