Freshest mojitos we've ever tasted

The house specialty drink is the blackberry mojito. My wife had that so I got strawberry instead. The citrus kick and fresh taste of these drinks made them soon be of the best we've ever had. Not a bad way to start off dinner. For apps we ordered the "Ceraviche" and the Galician ham. Both dishes... read more

Very often restaurants are very good in the beginning of their lifes and then decreases the quality. In Cera23 I have been four times and it gets better each time. How do they do it? I still believe that Sunday is the perfect day for a visit here. This time we ordered table at 20.00, but arrive at 21.00 by... More

Cera 23 is the ideal restaurant. A bit off the beaten path - providing an intimate and personal dining experience. The proprietors clearly love what they do - and they show that love through attention to details large and small. Exquisitely crafted cocktails, delicious food and warm and thoughtful support for special dietary needs (gluten free and tree but allergy).... More

We were staying in Barcelona for a one-night stop on the way to Corsica for our honeymoon, so obviously researched into a large number of places to eat to ensure we picked a great place for our first night. Cera 23 looked to be a great option - great reviews, good photos, and a nice distance away from the tourist-drag... More

It has a very hole in the wall vibe and it's one of my favorite places in Europe, not just Barcelona. For $20 I had delicoius octopus as an appetizer, a blackberry mojito which is the best drink I've ever had, and black rice paella which I loved more than any other paella. Go here. For what you get the... More

An inside place, no table clothes, ni fancy gadgets, just excellent food. A fusion of traditional food with modern cousine. Highly recomended. Three course meal for two people wih a bottle of wine 72 euros

Great food and lovely staff. Don't forget a dessert, the chocolate cake with Ferrero Rocher is great! But, the most important, take a fantastic blackberry mojito!

Cera 23 definetely deserves the good reviews. The food was delicious, I had black rice with sea food. And don't miss the octopus. My only regret was not having the blackberry mohito which looked delicious. The staff was also very friendly and helpfull. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.

We went to Cera 23 based solely on trip advisor reviews. We'd had a few disappointing meals in Barcelona so we thought we'd give it a try. We couldn't get a reservation but we phoned & they said if we came straight away we could get in. We took a cab, & was dropped off at the end of the... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
