Best dinner we had in Barcelona

Wonderful food, great service and reasonably priced. We were led by other reviewers and loved every dish we had. In particular the beef cheeks and blackberry mojito dessert.

The gods must have been smiling on us during our recent trip to Barcelona as we were lucky enough to get a table at Cera 23 on 2 different nights. The first time we just turned up; the second time I did phone but only a couple of hours before wanting to eat. Each time they managed to squeeze us... More

In a city as vibrant as Barcelona, it is easy to find an abundance of very good restaurants. So, to go back a second time on a one week vacation says a lot. We did. Unless you are an early diner (ie. before 21pm), you will likely need reservations. Staff is very friendly, kitchen very organized and creative, and atmosphere... More

We have been for dinner and we found a table last minute. This restaurant has so many people so it' s maybe better for a reservation if you go after 9p.m. The servise is perfect and very helpful with the menu. We had a salad with mozzarela, black rise and pasta with srimp.. was all delicious!

My wife and I are in Barcelona for our 25th anniversary and decided on this restaurant to celebrate the big night after reading the previous reviews. I'm so glad we did. The service was excellent. Although we didn't have a reservation, Guillermo worked his magic and found us a table when we arrived at 7:00. Marci (sp?) continued where Guillermo... More

We found this restaurant on trip advisor, as did both the tables next to us. I can understand why, it is tucked away on a side street you wouldn't usually find! We booked via trip advisor and received a warm welcome on arrival. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is simple but very good offering something... More

We stopped in to Cena 23 after walking by - looked great but restaurant was full. The host told us he'd seat us as soon as possible and brought us complimentary appetizers because we were starving. We also had drinks at the bar - raspberry mojito and margarita - which were hands down the best cocktails we had in Spain.... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
