I'm Australian and fanatical about coffee. This place has done the best coffee I've had during my week on Barcelona. Also had a small bite to eat and it was well presented and tasty.

From the good old times when it started and the original owners ran the place, it has lost a lot along the way. It still tries to portray a layback atmosphere australian/west coast style, and struggles to achieve it. anyhow it is crowded with tourists di¡uring summer given it is the "trendy" place to be for brunch or lunch. Food... More

The Federal Cafe is a cafe near Poble Sec serving great coffee and breakfasts both healthy and not so healthy. Sadly the customer experience is lacking and it could mean people will not come back despite the quality of food and drink. If you can put up with the tattooed woman with the poor attitude I'd recommend this place. If... More

The food here is great, the menu innovative but unfortunately the service is really really bad. Federal has such potential but the service lets it down.

It's such a good option for lunch, tasty burgers and healthy smoothies for a reasonable price. If you have the chance, go to the terrace upstairs :)

I never, ever ate such a good lemonpie! Very nice place, good atmosphere, relaxed, and truly good and varied breakfast/brunch options. I had eggs florentine: nice, dark yellow egg yolk, superfresh spinach and cream. And......REAL bread! My partner had a breakfast hamburger; he is really picky about meat quality, but he rated his hamburger a 9! Nice airy spot in... More

I like the easy going atmosphere, the open space, coffee was great and the cupcake too. The terrace is looking really nice. Approved!

I am a big fan of Barcelona, have visited the city 6 times in the lat few years, and over time, I've found places I like to do again, but marking this place as a 100% NO. So I've visited this place for the 3rd time - first doesn't really count as me and my partner were in search of... More

I really wonder that...when we came in they were not happy at all to see costumers coming in. they shouted that we had to stay and wait outside!!! I wanted to leave already, but we saw some good reviews so we stayed... wrong choice...in this cafe they think you should be happy if they want to serve you..I wonder why because... More

This cafe is located down a quiet side street which makes it a great place to have some brunch/breakfast with friends. As previously mentioned the waitstaff are not overly friendly and can be quite abrupt for when you can stand to wait for a coffee but the food and coffee is great. You can sit communally or private tables. Great... More
