Nice place to have your breakfast at. Service was OK. Bocadillos were fine. The coffee was delicious. The property needs a spring-clean and a coat of paint.

The restaurant we were supposed to go to was closed down so we had to quickly find an alternate. Found Barraval with a nice outdoor patio section. We elected to sit inside. Fortunately, food has been great! Would return.

We came here to have drinks before dinner. First we had to wait 25 minutes to get our drinks. The sangria here isn't really sangria, but more like a cocktail. The substance isn't clear, like a sangria should be. It is a really nice place to people watch, though, when sitting outside!

We visited this bar several times over the weekend that we spent in Barcelona. It was close to our hotel and they have a variety of tapas. I would recommend the chicken wings, these are really nice! Service is good and people are very kind.

We just stopped for a drink before our dinner reservation nearby. Tempted by the calamari tapas and didn't regret the decision! Fresh and delicious. Nice place to people watch in a busy and popular area. Bit pricey. Quick and pleasant service though.

Friendly staff, who are willing to cross the street! First time was for an espresso (perfecto!) and beer. Such nice service and great view of the Rambla de Raval, we went back for tapas after going to MACBA. Patas Bravas were terrific as were the ham croquette...( something with patatas + jamon. Holy yum!

Visited and were sat by window . Asked if we were English and then a new waiter appeared. Took the Degustation Tapas menu at 19 euro per head for 2 with one drink. food served barely warm. Like it was microwaved several minutes before. Gormless women on counter talking to Spanish friends. Croquettes were ok . Salad ok. Meatball thing... More

I went 2 years ago and again this week and I have enjoyed both times. The drink is quite cheap , good sized measures and the staff friendly.

We shared a couple of tapas and were pleased with the quality. Wait staff were friendly but not always available, but, then, we were there at an off time. Lovely atmosphere on the Rambla del Raval with neighborhood families strolling through the square and parakeets in the palms trees.

One of the best places, where we ate so far in Barcelona. Also very good and friendly service. I really recommend this place.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
