Our First Night

We had just arrived in Barcelona and wanted to eat near the Magic Fountain. Our hosts recommended Bodega Monumental and it was in walking distance both from our apartment and to Magic Fountain. We started with a Vermut, as recommended by the waitress. Although I'm not into sweet drinks, this... read more

Knowing some of Barcelona, we have a great recommendation: Bodega Monumental is one of the best places we have been, talking about local traditional food, very interesting menu where all the options are so good, try for example espaldilla de cordero or manitas de puerco among others and the service is excellent!! Prices are very reasonably too; so try this... More

I ate here as part of a group of 10 on the recommendation of two local hosts. What a fantastic experience. We were served a tapas style introduction of Iberian Ham, Garlic Potatoes, Mozzarella and various other small dishes. I had duck as a main course, again great taste and a good size. Throughout the meal our drinks were topped... More

This was recommended to us by our hotel and they gave us a coupon for a free glass of cava. The staff here were so much fun and helped us choose a delightful meal of tapas. Definitely the best tapas experience of our trip.

They were recommended by our hotel (Ayre Grand Via) for really good Spanish food. Plus it was close. With good reason! It was excellent! The Spanish atmosphere was very refreshing and really made the meal special. It's always a good sign when you see locals eating there. That's because they know something you don't. The food was great! The Paella's... More

Locally caught fresh fish, one of the more expensive restaurants in Barcelona but me and my new wife ate here on two nights of our three night stay enjoying their seafood paella as well as their array of fresh fish including lobster. Very good service, very friendly staff. Start with the tomato bread! Phenomenal and don't forget your Estrella!

My wife and I ate here on the recommendation of a staff member at the hotel where we stayed in Barcelona. It was a good 10 minute walk from our hotel, but it was WAY worth it - so much so that we went twice! Everything we ordered, from the Patatas Bravas to the Garlic Chicken to the Grilled Shrimp... After reading the reviews I was very disappointed by this place, which I only went to because I needed to go somewhere in the Pl Espanya area. Food is considerably below average. The paella was quite bad, but the Bravas were the worst I have ever had. Prices are considerably above average. Staff were friendly until you said you didnt... More

I have visited this place several times with friends and with my husband. Really good food! Even though is always crowded they manage pretty good the service. A little too pricey but is worth it.

We came intending to have a very light dinner but ended up ordering three dishes at the suggestion of our wonderfully friendly waitress. By far the best was the ham, wild asparagus and goat cheese Starter. A true revelation. Each of the three tastes was essential, but the goat cheese (which had something crystallized and sweet within) was the magical... More
