The Tatami Room is a Sushi Restaurant in the Poble Sec area of Barcelona, opened in Decemeber 2010. The downstairs dining area has 2 Tatami areas, where guests remove their shoes to sit on large cushions around low tables in traditional japanese dining style. The menu consists of a selection of Uramakis, Nigiris, Sashimis, as well as a kitchen section of noodles, seaweed salads, tempuras, grilled meats and teriyaki dishes. We are open everyday except mondays. At lunch we offer a daily menu for 11€ for three courses. In the evenings we offer la carte with the above mentioned dishes.

Best sushi I've had, great atmosphere

Went here on a date with my girlfriend and we couldn't get enough of the sushi. I dont claim to be any kind of expert on the subject, but it was clearly good quality, fresh and extremely tasty fish. Would recommend the avocado maki, the gyoza and any Californian roll you can lay your hands on. Yum.

As we went in, we said hi to the sushi man, he didn´t even look up, no answer. My brownie was raw, and still the waitress tells me that´s not true, that people love the brownie and gave me a funny look and offer me the raspberry mousse, which was not set, not cold, kind of liquid. I´m a cook... More

Went there with a group of friends, the restaurant design is great. The service was also excellent. A total of 6 people. We all had different stuff and I have to say that mine was delicious everything looked and smell fantastic! The quality of the fish is great and the way it's treated is also first class, sometimes really hard... More

It's probably our own fault because we ordered the night menu, but we wanted more sushi. The yakisoba was disapointing (and when we got it we wished we'd just ordered more makis a la carte) but everything else was good. Service was great the brownie was great

Average food, ambience and service. There were some confusion in the midst of the dinner, first 2 dish came really fast and the remainder reeeeeaaaallllyy slow. Then again its their busy time of the year. Overall still acceptable.

We visited the transition, because it was close to our appartment. I highly recommend this place if you are lookingfor good Japanese food. We ordered the 'menu de noche', which consist of five courses (€25 p.p.).We started with the miso soup, which was delicious. Then I had the salmon tartar with Wausau. The salon was silly smooth. A sign directed us to the room downstairs which had authentic Japanese seating, where we took off our shoes and sat cross legged on cushions, really added to the experience. You could also post your legs under the table too if you preferred. 4 of us had the €11.90 menu, and added a couple of exras, thinking the portions would... More

Went for lunch and sat in the lovely downstairs room. Had the €11.90 menu which included miso soup (not listed on the menu so a pleasant surprise addition), then chose the seaweed salad which was fabulous, also tried the other starter option of aubergine with miso sauce which was also delicious. The sushi was great and we ordered an extra... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
