Description: Facing the sea, Rangoli shares with its older brother - indian restaurant Bembì - the same concept of Indian food. Besides gathering all the virtues of his predecessor, Rangoli has a number of distinctive features: new and unique dishes, attractive decoration full of carefully chosen decorative pieces from India, a bar area where one can sip on a drink and, to top it all - a terrace with the Mediterranean view. Rangoli is the most ancient traditional decorative folk art of India and a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs. It is considered an important part of our spiritual tradition. Rangoli figures and patterns are colourful decorative designs on courtyards during Hindu festivals and is meant as a sacred welcoming area for the gods and guests. These ancient rituals have been passed on through the ages, from one generation to the next, thus keeping both the art form and the tradition alive. The purpose of rangolis is to bring good luck. We in Rangoli strive to present to you the culinary art of India which is as vibrant, traditional and colourful as a Rangoli and bring to you recipes which have transcended through generations. We welcome you to try the Rangoli experience!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2014 NEW

We went for lunch arriving at 1.30. By 3.00, the restaurant was almost full, with many of the diners being Spanish. There is inside dining as well as outside. Being December we chose inside. We had poppadoms and pickles, followed by a shared dish of Souvenirs Rangoli (beautifully presented) comprising of 4 items €12.10 to share (chicken tikka, lamb seek... More

Excellent pukka Indian restaurant with Indian waiters so I guess Indian cooked food, not Bengali. Superb variety of dishes and my Lamb Vindaloo was not too hot and cooked with fresh spices and tender lamb. Wife opted for Salmon Tikka and daughter had a spicy coconut based chicken curry. Doesn't open until 8PM so have a few beers in Maki... More

The location happens to be a great asset for this restaurant. It's on the seafront, and though the view is not so great, but the location definitely is. Very easy to locate this place. One thing I must say is that when you have spent some 4 to 5 days abroad without Indian cuisine, no matter where you dine, the... More

The restaurant located in Barceloneta was packed (we were there around 10. pm) and as we did not booked we had to sit outside which was ok but I saw that inside is also really nice (so you may want to book). The food was truly excellent. The taste of the 3 dishes were refined and subtle, we had a... More

Located conveniently in the centre of town, on busy street & near the beach. The food specially Vegetarian is very delicious, being fan of non veg food I didn't like chicken & lamb preparation at all. Dal & paneer masala is the best dish they have. Must visit.

nice place, clean, sophisticated atmosphere. friendly and polite staff. true indian dishes with a wide range of choice. excellent food quality. it's not cheap, but it's worth it. I've been there many times, I will keep on choosing Rangoli as the preferred indian restaurant in Bcn.

Rangoli is not your corner curry house (there a few of those in Barcelona; see Nice Spice, for instance). It tries (and mostly succeeds) in adding sophistication to Indian cuisine. Take, for instance, onion bhaji: they turn it into a mixed vegetables bhaji, some wrapped in a pappadom cone. And they also venture out of the comfort zone of most... More

After reading a few good reviews went to this place. Location is great as it is in the lively port area of barcelona. Food was v average. Cost was higher than other restaurants we visited in Spain. Thanks. MK
