Facing the sea, Rangoli shares with its older brother - indian restaurant Bembì - the same concept of Indian food. Besides gathering all the virtues of his predecessor, Rangoli has a number of distinctive features: new and unique dishes, attractive decoration full of carefully chosen decorative pieces from India, a bar area where one can sip on a drink and, to top it all - a terrace with the Mediterranean view. Rangoli is the most ancient traditional decorative folk art of India and a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs. It is considered an important part of our spiritual tradition. Rangoli figures and patterns are colourful decorative designs on courtyards during Hindu festivals and is meant as a sacred welcoming area for the gods and guests. These ancient rituals have been passed on through the ages, from one generation to the next, thus keeping both the art form and the tradition alive. The purpose of rangolis is to bring good luck. We in Rangoli strive to present to you the culinary art of India which is as vibrant, traditional and colourful as a Rangoli and bring to you recipes which have transcended through generations. We welcome you to try the Rangoli experience!

The restaurant is just off the beach and you can see people walking along the boardwalk. It isnicely decorated, and very comfortable, with an extensive menu. We were there with a couple who love their dal and the lamb vindaloo which they enjoyed greatly. We opted for the vegetarian tasting menu which started with 4 beautifully presented appetizers that were... More

We visited on New Year's Eve for dinner. We were presented with tasty food served in good portions. I had the house speciality lentil dish which was delicious, and my partner enjoyed the kadhai murgh. Prices were not too bad and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only slight negative was that we didn't receive any email or phone... More

As an Indian myself(!) I would definitely recommend Rangoli as they really blend in the right flavours to create subtle and interesting tastes. You can tell that they have created a menu that is original and thought through. I couldn't fault any of my dishes and would visit again.

Rangoli is a stylish place with food that matches up. From the brass pots that hang from the ceiling and the attractive wall decorations to the attentive staff, you feel that you are patronizing a restaurant that seeks elegance. That does carry over to their various dishes. Both entrees - Delhi green salad and the scallops sauteed with roasted peppers... More

Had the best Indian dinner buffet during my 3 day business trip here. As I was a part of the group I understand that the other Indian restaurants I had food at may not be the best in class but that does not take away any credit from Rangoli. The gulab jamuns (Indian dessert) were one of the best I... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
