Finally a restaurant in Spain that offers vegetarians something besides potato! The best Indian food I've had in Europe!

This is undoubtedly the best indian restaurant in Spain. The food is very similar to what you would taste in India. I would have give 6 stars if allowed

We ended up eating at Maharaja because some of the guys were craving Indian food. The grub turned out to be oily and average. The service was really slow. The place was quite full (the joint is not big) and they were not being able to keep pace. The place is small and quite claustrophobic. It sorely needs some ventilation.... More

I am always on the look for good Indian restaurants in Barcelona, a city that has never valued this lovely cuisine. Today, Maharaja is by far the best one. Rajah does not, unfortunately, serve alcohol any more. And Namaste is far too irregular. Anyway, here is Maharaja to lead the pack. I had a lovely solo lunch yesterday. The restaurant... More

I really enjoyed the dinner menu here, it was delicious. The price was very reasonable... inexpensive. I highly recommend coming here, from the various price tier menues you can get really great value for not so much money.

This place has a lot of traditional indian dishes on the menu. They do not try to be anything else that a plain indian restaurant and the service is quick and polite. They can spice up the dishes if you like them to and it brings in a lot of flavours. It is very bright lit and does not make... More

Tandoori, curry and much more. I had curry lamb and my friends and family had prawns and and tandoori chicken. Naan bread rice raja yoghurt all quite good. The Sikh waiter was unlike many Indian restaurants in other cities quite polite. Again the Creme Catalan was a bit of a disappointment, frozen ice cream type as it was. One of... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
