Very good neighbourhood bar/restaurant in Eixample

I was staying at the nearby Hotel Soho and wanted somewhere to have an evening meal. Guito is on the corner of Gran Via and Villarroel with tables outside and inside. The waiting staff are friendly and efficient. The menu offers a range of dishes and is moderately priced. They also offer a very... read more

I was in Barcelona for a week to study Spanish and had a wonderful 3 course lunch here on my first day from the Menu of the Day. The choice was good, the food was delicious and well presented and the staff were charming. There was even free wifi. I kept going back and was never disappointed - Guito provide... More

Just one block away from Hotel H10 Casanova this bar offers good food at "locals prices", the quality and prices are better than those found on Las Ramblas which is only a 15 minute walk away

This restaurant / bar is virtually next door to the Soho hotel ( and recommended by the hotel too ). It is frequented by locals ( which is a good sign ) and has a great Spanish menu with plenty of variation for many trips there to eat.

We wanted to try sole tapas after a long day of walk and visit. This place offer a menu of tapas called pica pica. We had 9 varieties of dishes , and a big pitcher of sangria for 28e (for 2). It was enough to satisfy our appetite. It was probably not the best tapas that we could have in... More

We ate lunch here because it was only two blocks from our hotel, the Acevi Villarroel. We thought it was quite a bargain. The "menu dia" - we had two entres, two soups, two salads and a full bottle of wine for 20 euros. Everything was quite tasty and there seemed to be plenty of locals eating there.

We turned up at 11, they still let us order food and were great service, really polite and helpful (although they didnt speak much english, they were really patient!). I cant stress how good the value was: I got a starter, a main, a dessert and a whole bottle of red wine for 11 EUROS. 11 EUROS?! I thought it... More

We ate here a couple of times as it is close the Hotel Soho where we were staying. Do not expect a classy restaurant as this is a typical tapas bar with a good selection of drinks, tapas and meals in a local friendly environment. All of the staff were very pleasant with smiling faces most of the time, even... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
