Have to concur with all the other TA reviews that's this is top end exquisite tapas. We savoured the chicken legs, rabbit ribs, Iberian cannelloni and tortilla with chorizo - all simply delicious. Any quibbles? Would be out of this world if they paired with equally top end craft beers and this... read more

Generally, many of the restaurants I went to were not very good. It's a mixed issue, I was easily able to get a single seat without a reservation when they first opened, but for couples or larger parties you will probably need on during high season. The other downside to that was the side of the dishes are fairly large,... More

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the world. The food is simply stunning! This is a modern tapas bar serving up all the traditional dishes you would expect but it also offers some different and more interesting dishes. The Foie Gras Burger is sublime, as are the Pork Ribs, intact everything I have ever eaten here has been... More

We tried this place out of chance. We were having a late night drink at El Xampanyet and literally across this tapas joint was Tapeo and the line up was long and the restaurant was packed. The next day we decided to try and it and we went around 630pm to beat the line up as we didn't have any... More

We were in Barca for a few days and someone recommended the tapas place across Tapeo. We saw the crowd and said no way we were gonna wait that long. That's when we saw Tapeo and decided to have dinner there instead. We were lucky to have a spot and we sat near the chef and his staff doing what... More

Amazing little tapas bar specialized in high class tapas serving classics but also experimental stuff. The food was just amazing and if the service staff hadn't been a little grumpy this would have gone 5 points. Also they have a nice collection of wine and if you are into red try the Anima Negra (AN/2).

have eaten here on multiple occasions, it never fails to deliver the very best quality - enough tradition to please the conservative and enough "curve balls" to please the adventurous... danny, the head chef/owner, is a very nice guy and a very fine restaurateur... there is a separate room in the back if you have a party of 6 or... We did not have reservations so there was 20-25 min wait since this place is small, but I must admit the wait was worth it. The Tapas and Sangrias were excellent, I will definitely return on my next visit to Barcelona,

No problem making a 8pm reservation. Good that we did cause it is very small and there’s a crowd waiting… Some 5-6 tables for two, a bar that serves around 8 and a couple of 4-seat tables is all there is. We sat next to a few of the chefs who works outside the main kitchen. Very good tapas. As... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
