A lucky find

My wife and I visited Barcelona and rented an apartment in the Gracia neighbourhood. One night, we had a wicked roasted chicken craving and looked online for places where we could take out roasted chicken. Google eventually led us to Taberna del Cura, which we tried the next night. 15 euro got us a... read more

From the get go they were trying to rip us off... As noted in another review it kicked off with starters we didn't order.. Next was identifying that the paella was a price per person not for the dish - very misleading. To prove how much they over charge they offered a discount - never experienced this before. The garlic... More

Really enjoyed this restaurant. We went for lunch. The food was really good, especially the local dessert specialty, which tastes exactly like outstanding creme brûlée.

Great food and a super awesome price. Right on the main drag in Garcia near the Fortuna Metro stop, this gem has great food. Great meats, vege choices and a good wine selection, Highly recommend the white beans in a local pesto. Yum!

We went there by the recommendation of the hotel. Unfortunatelly, the expectation were too high. They served us starters that we didnt order: olives and tomato bread. We didnt even have time to tell them because they were very fast. Food was average. They pretended not to understand English- the communication was weak. That was our only time we had... More

Looking for an evening meal and seeing the spit roasted chicken, we decided to give this restaurant a try. We're very pleased we did. Inside we found a pleasant taverna with jazz music playing, nicely set tables and friendly service (in English). A large bowl of chicken soup, real homemade taste, followed by the roasted range chicken. The chicken was... More

Do not go here. We ordered chargrilled vegetables and a roast chicken. The vegetables were straight from tthe fridge, limp, cold and definitely not char grilled! And the chicken was almost RAW! Which was hard at first to decipher as it was covered in some gravy goo. I haver never walked out of a restaurant without paying before, but I... More

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food was good. We wanted to order some chicken and vegetables. You have to look for the vegetables on the menu. My wife did not see any asparagus on the menu, she asked since we had it at several places during our visit. Oh sure was the reply. When the bill came it was 28... More

Staying in Gracia

Neighborhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
