Description: Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark...
Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark for the dissemination of wine culture. A pioneering space, created by Sergi Ferrer-Salat, which has opened wide its doors to present an unrivalled selection of wines from all over the world. And, what's more, to explore the how and the why of each bottle. At a time when the number of wine enthusiasts, all keen to appreciate and to learn, is growing apace, Monvinic opens in the city of Barcelona to promote and to encourage this passion. And to do so in a way that is rigorous and respectful, yet at the same time providing an atmosphere that is natural, uninhibited, joyous and outgoing.

Been to Monvinic twice, once for business dinner, later fir a family trip. Both were excellent experiences. But apart from its classy decoration, ambiance and great chic dishes, what I love most about this restaurant is its enormous range and offering of very fine examples of Spanish wine in glass. Will always go back.

We took a special trip to Monvinic as we were led to believe this was an outstanding wine merchants where you could eat drink and buy bottles of wine. So we were wrong and I don't think it is fair to hold Monvinic responsible for this. However we did not eat but we did stay for a drink. The bar... More

The food is quite good and the wine selection is generally broad and much further reaching than just about anywhere else, but in recent visits the service hasn't been all it could be. For instance, serving the final dregs of a bottle and filling the glass with sediment but not offering to open a new bottle is not cool.

Wonderful ambience in this modern wine bar and service from a lady sommelier who really knows her wines but food pretentious and over rated.

Booked a table two weeks in advance for a late night meal - landed at Barcelona airport at 8:15pm and was checked in, changed and arriving for dinner at 10pm. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable, the menu clear and simple as all very upmarket restaurants should be. I absolutely love having a few extremely well made dishes... More

This wonderful restaurant was more than we had hoped for. The server was friendly, educational, and relaxed. The menu was fascinating and delicious with many options we had never seen before. The chef also sources as locally as possible. We spent three hours of leisurely eating and drinking. So many wine options by the glass!! Such good recommendations to accompany... More

dinner last night exceeded expectations. 47 wine offerings by the glass. A server who was thoughtful in her recommendations. 20 year aged Rioja that was impeccable for less than 50 euro. And the food was high end execution in a rustic presentation What could you ask of an establishment?

I went with a friend and employee. Unfortunately we arrived after the kitchen was closed but the were happy to make us a lovely plate if local cheeses along with bread, olives and almonds. The computerized menu was helpful and the wines were served perfectly. Even brought up large Pinot glasses for the properly aged Rioja.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
