Description: Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark...
Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark for the dissemination of wine culture. A pioneering space, created by Sergi Ferrer-Salat, which has opened wide its doors to present an unrivalled selection of wines from all over the world. And, what's more, to explore the how and the why of each bottle. At a time when the number of wine enthusiasts, all keen to appreciate and to learn, is growing apace, Monvinic opens in the city of Barcelona to promote and to encourage this passion. And to do so in a way that is rigorous and respectful, yet at the same time providing an atmosphere that is natural, uninhibited, joyous and outgoing.

The wine list is amazing

I have stopped by here on each of the last 2 trips for wine. Unfortunately I have not made a reservation so I have not been able to try the food (hint: make a reservation at least a week before you want to eat). That said, the wine list is AMAZING.

I went with a friend and employee. Unfortunately we arrived after the kitchen was closed but the were happy to make us a lovely plate if local cheeses along with bread, olives and almonds. The computerized menu was helpful and the wines were served perfectly. Even brought up large Pinot glasses for the properly aged Rioja.

This wasn't just a restaurant it is an experience! It had a great atmosphere and the decor was very modern and crisp. All the food i tried was superb, from smoked cods caviar to my beef Wellington main. This place can be as expensive as you want it to be from 18 euro bottles of wine to 7000 euro bottles...my... This was the coolest place about 40 wines by the glass or half-glass (even better for tasting) the staff was really friendly and helpful. They prepare blind tastings if you ask them.

A place designed to sit in comfort and sample all kinds of wines from the world. You sit and they give you an iPad to choose by country, grape or sort of wine. Lovely décor and ambiance.

First things first, you probably wont find another establishment with a larger collection of impressive international wines nor a friendlier staff with vast expertise in viticulture and enology in all of Barcelona other than Monvínic. Monvínic - as the name implies - is a world of wine. But, in actuality it's more than that delicious fermented grape juice we have... More

I had lunch in this place in mid-afternoon and enjoyed both the food and the service. We had pumpkin soup, a salad and fresh squeezed veg for drink and liked it all. The waiters were quite welcome and the place is located near Plaça de Catalunya, so it's very central. In the tourist guide it said that everything was organic... More

This resturant and wine bar is so amazing and unusual, encompassing a wine library, a bar with 50 open bottles at any one time...and you may have a bottle, glass or half glass. The restaurant menu is ample without being overwhelming and the food is superb, mostly local ingredients and the suppliers are featured in video screened upon the wall.... More

One of the bests restaurants that you can find in Barcelona is located inside of Monvinic, in fact is a winebar, more that a restaurant, but some say its a restaurant and not a winebar. so the best thing you can do is go there and discover it by yourself!

I was really excited to try this bar after reading the reviews, but found, like many, that the servers at the bar were indifferent to our presence and incredibly slow. In addition, we were seated at the bar stools near the serving area, and it was giving off a smell like stale alcohol, and was attracting a number of flies.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
