Very Good, Inexpensive Restaurant

We stumble upon this small, corner restaurant while walking through the El Raval section of town (one side of Las Ramblas is the Gothic Quarter, the other side of the Las Ramblas is El Raval). We opted to sit at a sidewalk table for our dinner, for which there is a 10% surcharge. (If you're a... read more

Preceding our Disney cruise, 6 adults and 3 kids had a wonderful meal here. Salmon steaks were grilled, the tapas excellent and the prices right! This restaurant is just 1/2 a block from the Hotel Turin. The pizza appealed to the youngest in our group but the menu was large with lots of choices to please everyone. The service was... More

We were there with our 1 year old baby, the place is kid friendly and the service was nice. But the pasta for the baby had a radioactive sauce and wasn't eatable, our dishes took a very long time to get the and were ok nothing more. Not going back there...

If you know the place and what kind of food they do then you will know what to order, that's the key. Of course you do not order "pizza" or "paella" in this restaurant!! It is a good value restaurant to eat a normal lunch menu, nothing fancy. Also from the first look you see that it is an indian... More

Pizzas were market pizzas, just a little bit tuned. Had also chicken and fish paella which apparently did not contain much chicken or fish. They also tried to charge too much for that experience. Would not go there ever again.

Salty, fat Paella, cooked at least two days in advance, i suppose. However, waiter was nice and offered a free Paella for the next day, but no, thanks, no second time!

Once we sat and looked through the huge menu it should have been clear: nothing fresh, all just deepfrozen dishes: we took a fish paelia for 2 perons (I thought one cannot do much wrong with it) which was not tasty and overly salty. The giant prawns had no taste and so were the shells. Honestly pretty much on par... More

We found this restaurant by chance after coming off Las Ramblas for some food. We had an excellent lunch for 12.95 euros each which was 2 course + ice cream and a glass of wine, excellent value, everyone very happy with their choices, starters were large portions, main meals just the right portions, we enjoyed the wine so much we... We had pizza on an outside table, but noticed a Supplemental Terrazas charge of 2.50euros on the bill. Their phony way of adding charges to the bill to trick tourist into paying more money.Pizza was good, but we wouldn't go back for their trickery.

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
