Basic and simple, not going for a second round

While wandering around the streets of El Raval this restaurant came across at the moment of hunger. We had menu del dia, first course was good, I had meat-stuffed eggplant. Second course was a bit of a disappointment: I had butifarra-saucace with fried potatoes - that's it, nothing more, only a bit... read more

Food: I can cook better in home. Starters were quite good. First dishes; ravioli, I think it was not self made; mushrooms and shrimps from the can, warmed up in olive oil, ok; goat cheese salad, ok. Second dishes: lamb was ok, only few fries, no vegetables; sirlion was over cooked, and also quite raw from the thick side, only... More

Stumbled across this place after leaving a nearby bar where service was non existent. No problem at Flor de Maig where we were quickly served with some excellent tapas and a very fine Sangria by a very friendly waitress. We sat outside and watched the world go by in this quiet area of El Raval.

We stumble upon this small, corner restaurant while walking through the El Raval section of town (one side of Las Ramblas is the Gothic Quarter, the other side of the Las Ramblas is El Raval). We opted to sit at a sidewalk table for our dinner, for which there is a 10% surcharge. (If you're a tourist visiting for just... More

Preceding our Disney cruise, 6 adults and 3 kids had a wonderful meal here. Salmon steaks were grilled, the tapas excellent and the prices right! This restaurant is just 1/2 a block from the Hotel Turin. The pizza appealed to the youngest in our group but the menu was large with lots of choices to please everyone. The service was... More

We were there with our 1 year old baby, the place is kid friendly and the service was nice. But the pasta for the baby had a radioactive sauce and wasn't eatable, our dishes took a very long time to get the and were ok nothing more. Not going back there...

If you know the place and what kind of food they do then you will know what to order, that's the key. Of course you do not order "pizza" or "paella" in this restaurant!! It is a good value restaurant to eat a normal lunch menu, nothing fancy. Also from the first look you see that it is an indian... More

Pizzas were market pizzas, just a little bit tuned. Had also chicken and fish paella which apparently did not contain much chicken or fish. They also tried to charge too much for that experience. Would not go there ever again.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
