Gourmet food

Visited this place on the recommendation of lonely planet. Wasn't disappointed. Food was great but not a lot of choice. Also portion sizes were gourmet size which isn't a problem if you have had your pre meal tapas. If you're looking for something a little of the beaten track then this is the... read more

As a vegetarian, I had to place a special order, since there's no vegetarian dish on the menu. The food was overpriced, and ridiculously small portions. Plus, it didn't even taste nice. Definitely not coming back. Only good thing was the interior design...

We went to Allium on the recommendation of the Lonely Planet and overall decent reviews on trip advisor. Sadly it came in under par for us. We reserved a table and on walking in found an over-lit restaurant with no music and significantly lacking any atmosphere. We were then shown to our table which was tucked around the corner on... We visited allium on a Saturday night, our last of four in Barcelona. It was recommended to us through a lonely planet review as 'beautifully prepared tapa dishes and changing specials' 'an inviting newcomer'. On first impressions the location was central but secluded, interior decor was minimalist with Neolithic type engravings in the interior walls, multiple light bulbs (over 30%... More

We had a group of five for lunch and we were seated without a reservation. The staff were extremely friendly including the head chef who assisted us by describing the menu items. We are mostly English speaking but the staff helped us wherever possible where we didn't understand the menu options. We went for the 15euro three course lunch. The... More

We visited Alluim at the suggestion of our guidebook and it couldn't have been more mistaken. The place was pretty dead around 9 when we arrived and hadn't picked up at all when we left at 10:45...no it didn't take us that long to eat, just about 10 minutes to even get water and then at least 20 minutes to... Walked through a few alley ways to get here but worth it. We ordered the paella- It's for two people (we think the price on the menu is per person) and the calamari (which we included in paella as I wanted calamari). Very nice dish!! The wines were nice also! They have an English menu to make it easier when... More

Reading the reviews, it sounded great but alas it didn't deliver. Pleasant place and food was acceptable but if we were served an authentic Spanish paella, then I can't say that I am a fan. We also had a jug of sangria that at €18 was the most expensive but not the best we had during our stay. Service was... More

Really nice restaurant with good fresh foods served by friendly staff. We were looking for a healthy salad type lunch...at 4:00 pm which is challenging in Spain....and found it here. Very attentive to gluten free....have menu items marked and serve gluten free bread.
