Good food, quiet restaurant

We found this when walking by and decided to go back the following day as the restaurant was very busy. Service was very good, the waiter spoke very good English and helped with our choices of food and wine. Very allergy friendly. My daughter is allergic to milk, eggs and nuts and the restaurant was very accomodating. I have no allergies and my food was great. Paella was particularly good as well as various tapas. Service was fantastic. Be sure to make reservations. It sells out many nights of the week.

We had a most enjoyable meal here. Everything was perfect. Delicious food and fine wine. I particularly recommend the tasty small artichokes. The service was great; our waiter was helpful, interested in our opinion of the food and interesting in helping us to explore the wines and food of the region.

Had an evening meal here on a Sunday night. It's distinguished from other restaurants in Barri Gotic as the decor is brighter and more modern than its competitors. We had a seafood paella which was delicious and a cracking bottle of white wine. Not the busiest place, but I think that may change soon. Well worth a visit.

Not good. Tapas were horrible. Paella was overdone and had no taste and it even was so called freshly made. No, not our thing at all.

Four of us ate at Allium late on a Saturday night and had no problem being seated in the lovely, brick-lined dining room, located on a narrow street in the heart of the Barrio Gotic. Each couple ordered 5 tapas to share, plus dessert and wine, and everything was delicious. The waitstaff speak English very well and made excellent recommendations;... More

We enjoyed some of the best tapas we had in Barcelona at Allium. The veal dish was great. Friendly service as well!

The chorizo in sweet sauce was my wife's over-the-top most favorite item during our whole stay in Barcelona, which is apparently some ancient word for "copious tapas", so this is a big thing. The rest of the food was just fine, the sitting is nice, and it's in a great neighborhood. Very pleasant.

We loved the food here and visited twice. They were very helpful in accommodating a gluten allergy. We'd recommend the pulpo, the braised beef dish, and everything else we ate. This restaurant is way less pretty inside than other nearby restaurants, without any soft lighting or brickwork, and I don't think it has any outdoor seating available.
